Today I Received.....

Message added by ChrisSilver

The Today I received section is for private individuals to share items they have purchased for their collection / as part of their investment.

The Today I received section is not to be used for businesses to promote their business. Trade members and those operating as a business in the eyes of the forum are invited to enquire about a Dealer Sub Forum, where you may start your own Today _____ received topic to post your commercial purchases. E.g. The Today Chards Received..... topic.

I do like them and would like to have them in my collection.....but with respect,,,they just don't have the WOW factor that I believe the RM will produce with their minting technology.

Regards

That's why i didn't bought the Proofs. If i'm lucky, i will get the originals. But if not, i'll go for the Alderneys instead of paying ridiculous premiums anywhere else for the original restrikes. The Comonwealth Mint did a fabulous job, maybe even with a better fitting  portrait of Queen Elizabeth. Also you would hardly get two PR70 Matte coins by the Royal Mint, if they would offer this set in Matte Proof. Same with the Proofs, good luck to us for two strikes with RM coins. I'm not in the UK and it is a nightmare with returns and replacements since customs are involved.  I'm really happy to have this set. And i will also never be worrying about milkspots. So much good things, enough WOW factor for me.

Minting techonlogy?............If this is representative of Alderney Islands Matt minting technology then they are utter light years in front for the Royal Mint, you are speaking with someone who's retuned more Matte SOTD Sovereigns than I've kept due to very poor quality.

OK.. know offence meant.. 🥴🥴🥴

Very nice indeed. I am surprised that these haven’t sold out. It will be interesting to see how the Royal Mint issue compares. Not long to wait now!

Thanks man. I would say go for it. it's so nice in hand. my pics dont do it justice

Imagine doing that with a super rare coin. Like an original Una? That’s surely on the lottery winner’s bucket list?! Haha!!

What would you have made into a ring if money was no object? For me, it would be a Queen Anne Five Guineas. Ooooft. Sacrilege, right! Haha!!
