Well it wasn’t exactly sub 300 but works out that after. £360 paid, £22 TCB, 15000 nectar points (£75) = £263 all said and done. eBay Black Friday deals from BBP eBay 😀

Oh I mean I collected the nectar points it wasn’t an accumulation (eBay had 50x points for 1 hour only) so it was actually a great deal.

An interesting coin for a number of reasons. Not least because the Royal Mint denied it even existed.

But perseverance won the day and  I was able to order one from the Royal Mint!!!

My understanding is that it is only the third time the Royal Mint has issued a 1oz Platinum Proof Britannia.

The other two occasions were in 2007 and 2008 but only in 4 coin sets.

Silver Proof Gothic Crowns............I'm embarrassed to say I bought  these as a novelty and did not realise just how good they are, they are just as good as any Perth Mint silver proofs I've seen and that's high praise from me.  A great collectors set.

Today these 2 coins arrived. The Panda 2022 in a very nice motif as I find as well as the commemorative coin from Germany "Birth of Christ" as a Christmas coin. The weight is 22g and is made of fine silver 999. Greetings from Maxe

I do like them and would like to have them in my collection.....but with respect,,,they just don't have the WOW factor that I believe the RM will produce with their minting technology.

Minting techonlogy?............If this is representative of Alderney Islands Matt minting technology then they are utter light years in front for the Royal Mint, you are speaking with someone who's retuned more Matte SOTD Sovereigns than I've kept due to very poor quality.
