  2. Just received these two lovely coins. Will try to get a five pound and a full in future. Not sure why the 2 Sov didn't get CAMEO grading... I believe the cameo contrast looks very similar.

  14. A nice 2nd Coin Cabinet arrival that solves a storage/ display problem. The Cabinet has a drawer for coin paraphernalia, the remainder of the them fitted out with Inserts that accept Crowns, which was its intended purpose. As a nice bonus, the drawers are also deep enough to hold 10 Slabs per drawer 😃 and my Peter Nichols Cabinet with my historic Silver sits nicely up on top 👍

  25. This little beauty came today. Paid the same as a bullion 1/4 Brit so happy days. Tiny little copper spot on the shield but I can look past that quite easily. Really wish I looked into gold a lot sooner than last year as I would love the full set of these.

  27. Went to one of the LCS' near my home today and bought a few coins for my U.S. Type Set. 1853 Braided Hair Large Cent, 1889 Liberty Nickel, 1839 Capped Bust Half Dollar reeded edge, and a 1906 Proof Liberty Nickel. The proof isn't going into my type set album. I just bought it because I liked it and I don't have any proof coins anywhere near that old.

  28. Modest 1 oz Gold Brit purchase thanks to @BleyerBullion, decided the kids are both going to have a Brit set each in a walnut box; after that they can decide what they want to collect in the future. Just 2 gaps to fill now.

  31. Lovely and very rare coin received today- a lucky early and what turned out to be a very much overlooked Sunday morning eBay auction win 😃 Orphaned from an extremely rare 1923 Proof South Africa Set- a lovely chocolate coloured Bronze Penny, nicely toned, a nice Plain edge and just about as struck. A Wonderful coin 👍

  34. Following on with my Pre- Decimal Crown collection (1820 through to 1960) and whilst I do some reading and get a better understanding of Crown issues prior to George III, I have decided to move forward with Decimal issued Crowns (or £5’s). My aim is to collect all the modern Commemorative Royal issues- to date- and in as many formats as possible- Piedfort, Silver Proof, Proof FDC & Base Metal. By my reckoning there have been 39 different Monarchy themed Crown issues since 1972- this should keep me busy for a while, so if you don’t here from me, that’s what I’m up to 😂 These arrivals came over the last several days. With thanks to @Richym99 for the eight Piedforts and the freebie display case was appreciated (I’ll need it!). And thank you @PapaLazarou for the Crowns. A couple more were eBay pick ups. Piedforts Crowns- Silver Proof & Base metal Also nice to get together all 6 of Her Majesty’s Portraits in the Crown sized coin.

  35. Sublime rare 1882 H newfoundland 2 dollar graded NGC AU58 The Newfoundland 2-dollar coin was issued in intermittent years between 1865 and 1888. It was the only circulation gold coin issued by a British colony. Although few coins were issued, it was broadly used in Newfoundland and eastern Canada. The coin became scarce in 1894 because of hoarding following the collapse of Newfoundland's banks and monetary system. The H ia for Heaton mint Birmingham, one year only as the royal mint was overloaded with work and subcontracted the work out

  48. Not exactly precious metals, but not particularly cheap either! A pair of 1.5-inch solid metal cubes. The tungsten one weighs exactly 1kg, which feels unearthly heavy for something so small (unless you happen to have a 1kg gold bar!). In contrast, the aluminium (sorry, aloominum) cube feels unfathomably light and it's hard to believe it's not hollow.
