One More Sledgehammer, One More Nut

The Royal Mint 2010 Silver Proof Collection proved the only feasible means to securing the elusive definitive 2010 silver proof FDC £1 Shield of Arms, mintage of 1,241. A BU version was minted (1,551) but none have made themselves known to me.

All coins arrived in pristine condition - another good-looking set imo

Just three silver shieldbacks now required for the complete set of 75 £1 coins. (2011 and 2012 x 2, if anyone can help).

Only the royal mint could send out 2 of same series in different capsules 😠

If you look closely you will see the dragon is absolutely rammed into capsule and both caps have damage. Not impressed.

 

But here is something truly impressive...a quintuple of Beasts in their natural environment, just missing the Unicorn that's currently MIA.  Just need matching capsules for all 39mm dia

Some lovely big ones today

Absolutely stunning Egypt 20 Piastres 1917- such a nice design and just about crown sized (my new favourite world silver coin). This coin amazing in size and feel.

Netherlands 2.5 Gulden from 1872 which has the highest silver purity of any of my world silvers at .945! thats almost bullion standard. Lovely coin an great condition for its age and size.

A crown which has seen better days 😂

My first coin from Costa Rica, which despite only being worth a couple of quid has a surprisingly low mintage of 260,000. Very similar design to the British West Africa 6 pence IMO.
