Today I Received.....

The Today I received section is for private individuals to share items they have purchased for their collection / as part of their investment.

The Today I received section is not to be used for businesses to promote their business. Trade members and those operating as a business in the eyes of the forum are invited to enquire about a Dealer Sub Forum, where you may start your own Today _____ received topic to post your commercial purchases. E.g. The Today Chards Received..... topic.

Yes it is. Patina is caused by oxidation and results in the greenish bluish hue we see on copper etc.

I think I see though what @GoldDiggerDave means here - the frosting somehow seems to have that same effect. I’m not sure how they managed it, but it looks frikkin gorgeous. You can especially see the difference when he compares it alongside other .999 gold coins (towards the end of the video).

Thanks for that wedtminstrel. The wonderful yellow gold when compared with the coppery sovereigns is just gorgeous.

I do wish that the R. M. Would replace much of the copper in sovereigns with silver to give them the loverly buttery gold colour of the earlier victorian sovs.

Bullion Sovereign no. 20. Enough bullion now - 2022 it's time for some more rare sovereigns.

What literature would you recommend for collecting rare sovereigns? Mintages? Errors, etc? Thanks a lot!

Got 6 more sovs. One of them is an isle of man sov - my first. In great condition and only a 10er more than the others, seemed reasonable!

Does by that logic that Isle of man is tax free and your coin is Tax free - does the taxman have to refund you twice? Id put a form in see if you can claim it back!

I would suggest the 2021 edition of Marsh, The Gold Sovereign Collection Series (as revised by Steve Hill): https://www.tokenpublishing.com/shop/product/8058/16

Fantastic pick up- what a beautiful Crown- I bet a pound to a penny that in hand it’s 10 times better looking with lovely underlying brilliance.

They don’t come much better than this 👍

Indeed I’ve got a lovely crown collection coming along which I blame you for 😂

The postie dropped her off about an hour ago.

For anyone wondering, yes, I can confirm that it had a fantastic, chocolate centre. Very delicious, and I discarded the foil wrapper in the recycling bin like a good citizen. Sadly, the bin I put it in was lost in a tragic boating accident.

What are the odds?

Many thanks to @James32; a true gent and scholar!

Dont give him too much praise least he can update his membership now, as he keeps on running out of reactions.
