@richatthecroft Congrats on the centanario!  I love them.  They give you such a satisfying heft when you hold them in the palm of your hand.  Add to that a very attractive design, and you can't beat them for low premium old gold coins.  You have a very attractive looking example there.

Today I got one of these. I was going to buy another half Eagle, but found this one for a really good deal, so got it instead. It's a gold replica released by the US mint of the Standing Liberty quarter, first released in 1916:

Got my beast today. Got from the rm. I did buy the first 6 from Atkinson's and was happy they all got ms69 so for bullion coins very good. The last one that came out thought i would pay the £5 more for rm capsule and the hope that it was in top condition. Well did get my first ms70 on that one. So tryed my luck with the rm this time to.

Do you think it adds value to slab these bullion coins? Is it mainly a long-term play?

Today I received:

Free goldback from upma.org. If I did the maths right it equals to about £1.19 worth of gold on this so not much but I still think it's neat. It's slightly smaller than a £5 note.

I just like my coins in slabs. Think if you get a 69 or 70 then it puts the cost on the value of the coin.

From the pic looks like a few marks on the coin. But could be the case.

I hope @SILVERFINGER will be pleased to hear i've been a busy buyer recently and hope to redeem myself and share some more purchases later in the month (once they all arrive from accross the globe!).

Thanks @Alex for the amazingly fast delivery of this Half Crown.   I’m doing a bit of reading up on older Proof coin sets with a view to purchasing- but there’s a dearth of opportunity to get up close with older Silver in nice condition, so nice to receive this nigh on Uncirculated 1887 to handle and explore up close to get some hands on experience. Nice detail- I do need a camera macro attachment though, and better light source.

Here it is, the grand revealing! An awesome doubloon! Well, probably more like a half of one, since I think a 4 Escudos is considered a true doubloon!  This is a great condition 1797 Madrid Spain 2 Escudos, Charles IV, KM:435.1 AU(55-58).

but I did manage to pick it up just below spot....

and it's gold....

and it's nice and shiny....

Bought a 1/2 kilo Lunar 2007 Pig, sold it with some profit and bought  a new one. From a big part of the profit i bought a 1/2 kilo Lunar monkey which it’s on his way. 

I love it when a plan comes together 😏
