Finally got the set together, been waiting on the special forces since april... it's the real heroes series of 3oz medals.

The fighter pilot mintage 499 I believe, firefighter mintage 911 and special forces mintage 750

Thanks.  I use a DSLR with a 150mm macro lens.  Sometimes a light box, sometimes a flash with a diffuser, and a macro tripod rig.  I'm learning my way around macro photography, as it is quite a specialist art.

Yes @Charliemouse those images are stunning, great lighting and zoom level.

I use my Samasung S22 phone and my iPad for taking images. So far the iPad has produced the best images but it's the lighting that's really preventing me from getting much clearer images.

Maybe I need to get a decent digital camera for taking images of precious metals in fine detail.

Phones are amazing for the size of their cameras these days.  Their macro capability has jumped forward in the last couple of years with the introduction of ultrasonic sensors.

However, physics says the potential of a tiny 3mm wide lens is never going reach the potential of a 70mm wide lens.

Of course, getting a DSLR, or probably mirrorless these days, opens up a whole new can of worms...

Received a 2022 Gold 1/4 Oz Britannia and a bonus Silver Britannia from Bullion By Post using their referral scheme.
