Yes I definitely didn’t buy them for the intrinsic value bargain 😀 but I really like them! I’ve also thought about framing them, think it’d look pretty good and would be the only gold I’d feel comfortable having out on display tbh

Having said that, the bun-head Young Victoria is one of my favourite obverses

Leonard Charles Wyon’s portraits, were better than his Father’s IMO….

Photo shows the classical Young head portrait by William Wyon, next to his eldest son Leonard’s ‘Australia’ Sovereign. For comparison the ‘bunhead’ farthing is also shown, by L.C.

@Petra It's mainly the special reverse I like although I have got two standard doubles,  I love the doubles great size for seeing the beauty of the coin.

My Pistrucci Great Engraver finally arrived. Just the wee 2oz Silver. Delighted to say it is absolutely spot on. Notwithstanding the obligatory detritus in the capsule!

It really is a peach of a coin, superb presentation too - I wonder why can't RM do this consistently though?
