To me this fake looks fantastic. Do you see a lot of fakes like this? Should not be easy faking coins like this. At least i hope that's not being easy.

We are seeing more fakes in recent years.

A few members have already posted "Sad" emoji responses to my post. 

I am not sure whether they dislike the post, or dislike the fact that these fakes are becoming commoner, and better.

The over-riding reasons for me buying this batch of fakes (there are more to folow), are research, and education.

I intended to order an 1841 fake / imitation sovereign, but it's the one coin I seem to have forgotten. I will get back and order one soon.

About a month ago there was a TSF thread about one being offered on ebay, many members were surrpised, shocked, outraged, etc. I was philosophical about it because I have seen lots of fraudulent and scam offers on ebay.

Sad face due to there being a huge rise in fakes entering the market. 
It's a worry especially with more and more people looking to PMs as a hedge to protect their hard earned money. Getting done over with fakes is a bit of a cr*ppy outcome

Another day another half crown 😂 Got some lenses for my camera I’ve been playing with too.

A nice 2nd Coin Cabinet arrival that solves a storage/ display problem.  

The Cabinet has a drawer for coin paraphernalia, the remainder of the them fitted out with Inserts that accept Crowns, which was its intended purpose.

As a nice bonus,  the drawers are also deep enough to hold 10 Slabs per drawer 😃 and my Peter Nichols Cabinet with my historic Silver sits nicely up on top 👍

Maybe I worded that wrong they’re just some attachments for my mobile phone camera 🤣 I have an older Nikon slr I inherited off my grandad but it rarely gets used as it’s easier to just use the mobile.
