  1. I don't think that's the case for Shield sovereign?
  2. It's not my cup of tea in most cases.
  3. I think in medium to long run, physical banknotes and coins maybe only left for commemorative purpose.
  4. Oh, maybe they have to hire more employees for that task due to its usual standard😅.
  5. End of an era....by the way, it's mentioned the staff will be transferred to gold recycling works, which sounds RM will soon accept trade in of old cell phone to extract gold from it.
  6. Yes, in the registration page, RM mentioned coins instead of coin.
  7. Hi Chris, most of the Victorian coins worths some money, also Edward VII halfcrown and Florin. This is only a brief statement, for details, you may also refer to the site on top of that mentioned by Stuntman, www.allcoinvalues.com. Also auction results of London Coins, Spink etc. will be helpful, however the precise value will depend on date, die and quality of the coin. You may also post some pics here and see if someone may give further ideas towards it.

    HSBC Gold Tokens

Think it is likely some kind of speculation mean only, instead of storing wealth, coz there is no guarantee you can redeem physical gold in the future. I am curious to learn about their buy-sell spread when it's launched.
  9. I see this also. At £533 for a single maundy set, i would expect all sets are at very very supreme quality sets, which i don't think they would🤣.
  10. Wow...nice, it may be the first time i was tempted by the coloured swan...however, i am also looking to purchase non coloured one as prior years.
  11. Agree that this is the worst in my opinion.
  12. I have bought 2 King George V silver coins from RM site when i started collecting numismatic coins years way back. After a year, i realized i can purchase similar grade ones at 50-60% from markets, a lesson learned and luckily not sky rocket prices were involved. These 2 coins are still kept by me up to now and remind me the story behind😅.
  13. Anyone noticed the sales figure of 2020 Britannia pieces?
  14. As per my experience before, Perth Mint quality is in general better than Royal Mint, especially the coin is most likely problem free. Also, some of their designs are very good, like Swan, Eagle, Kookaburra etc.
  15. Yes, and also some are without postage service, which need buyers to arrange pickup on their own.
  16. Totally agree, same view.... To be honest, this is a very nice coin on hand for appreciation purpose.
  17. Lovely Gothic florin, 2 different varieties. I think your estimate is more or less around the market price at auctions at this moment, but please do not forget the additional auction premium at approximate 20% on top of the hammered price.
  18. Agree with Stuntman view, 1902 is not a tough year for collection. Proof sets were issued in that year, so that many good examples are being kept after decades, therefore it's less difficult to find a decent 1902 coins comparing with other Edward's years. Similar case is also applied for 1887, 1893, 1911, 1927, 1937 etc.
  19. This kind of fake is one of the most trouble issues in collecting coins, as some can be very very like to the real ones, at least to my amateur eyes.
  20. Some fake pieces are so hard to identify, but this one is spotted if it's compared side by side with the real one.
  21. This one must be counterfeit, most obviously the hair of Edward and britannia.
  22. I'm collecting Royal Mint Queen's Beasts, City Views, and Australia Swan and Dolphin series. Starting slowly and you will know what actually you like in longer run. There are many interesting and lovely designs in the market, however i don't have deep pocket to grab all😅.
