  1. Welcome @HGMetals, been a customer for many years, thanks for the service!
  2. John Round & Son? http://www.silvercollection.it/ENGLAJOHNROUND.html
  3. The first works nicely, the second not so much in my opinion. The third might be better if you focus to the front of the bar with a smaller aperture giving an in focus view of the entire top of the bar, I would also add more lighting to show more reflection and the glossy nature of the metal.
  4. They are abbreviations of Latin phrases. D.G Dei Gratia. By the grace of God. F.D Fidei Defensatrix. Defender of the faith.
  5. That's a very good point. You could use laundered money to buy anything When viewed from that perspective it seems that there could well be an underlying motive in recording purchases of PM's.
  6. It's £5000 or more in one purchase or £10000 in one year.
  7. Myself and @MCJhave already provided all the info you need, you seem to have overlooked it.
  8. For British coins get a copy of Spink - Coins of England and the United Kingdom. Probably cheaper elsewhere. New version coming in December I think. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/383840738438?epid=9046593361&hash=item595eb0dc86:g:xxkAAOSw~MFfyPhH
  9. Republic of Ragusa Ducato. I think these were originally minted in silver, this could be a copy minted in gold I guess!? St Blaze on the obverse, coat of arms on reverse I expect someone else knows more than me.
  10. Wherever you have 24 hour access to it in my opinion.
  11. If you do decide on a Sovereign, beware, it's a slippery slope! Many of us learn't the hard way!!
  12. You could pick them up from other forum member's at more reasonable prices than the online dealers, in which case it might be worth it, although the first 3 or 4 might hard to find. Other than that, I wouldn't bother personally but that's just me. There are still plenty of 1/4 oz versions around which are obviously cheaper and easier to find.
  13. I've used them a fair bit and never had any problems other than delays in shipping which I think is down to them running too many auctions close together and not enough staff to process it all. Whenever I have contacted them they have always been quick to respond and courteous. My initial recommendation came from posters here on the forum, I've never read any Google reviews, I wouldn't put too much stock in them, just make judgments based on your own experience.
  14. I use Glint, which is very good and cheap. I don't have any qualms about recommending them. There are lots of videos with interviews with the CEO on youtube if you want to make some further assessments. https://glintpay.com/
  15. Just a quick snap under flat lighting, looks much better in hand, shiny blue/purple/brown tones!
  16. 1899 Halfcrown My first silver coin, inspired by the Crown collection of @richatthecroft. I would also like to thank him for all of his help, advice and resource sharing, cheers mate!
