Stunning India Queen Victoria Jaipur Gold Indian Mohur 

Gold Mohurs were first introduced between 1540 and 1545 by Sher Shah Suri, as a way of uniting the different tribes in India under a single form of currency, thus encouraging trade and peace.

When British rule in India commenced in 1858, it was decided to build on the heritage of the Gold Mohur, but to also include reference to the British Monarch.

The design of the coin  is very interesting with its legend in Persian translating to ‘Victoria the Sultan of Inglistan, the great Queen of England’.

The coin also shows that the Maharajas of Jaipur accepted the protection of the British Raj and they would remain at the side of British even during the revolt of 1857 and in return was allowed to maintain some independence by the British Government of India.

10.8grams of magic authenticated by the Royal Mint and certificated

I had these beauties arrive yesterday, for the kids' Christmas treasure hunt. My dismal photos do no justice to how gorgeous these coins are!

Another Beautiful coin arrived today. 
a rare grade 1896 half sovereign.

Today I received this 2021 1/4oz silver Britannia along with the 1914 half sovereign and a 2021 1/10oz platinum Britannia

A couple of small pieces Gothic gold from Alderney - a £5 in 24 carat gold and a quarter sovereign in 22 carat gold (full details lower down).

Because of the size of the coins I found it difficult to photograph them so a publicity picture of the £5 is included at the bottom.

I am resigned to not being able to get / afford the forthcoming Gothic gold from the Royal Mint so I am quite happy with these.

maybe a poland mint has borrowed a englisch ship for the motive of this fantastic 999 fine silver rounds .

Another few for my .500 half crown date run. Expanding on what was initially intended to only be a George 6th silver run.

And the full 'collection' so far. All decent examples except for the 1921 which was too cheap to refuse.

Also bought this absolute left fielder on an absolute whim.

Last one is for scale next to a 20p. Its a fair old lump of coin.

As far as I can tell its a Chinese Eastern Branch Board of Revenue 50 cash. Circa 1853/54, Quin Dynasty (Xian Feng). I believe it is brass. I would be more than happy to have any of this confirmed or corrected if there are any experts here on the forum.
