Today I Received.....

The Today I received section is for private individuals to share items they have purchased for their collection / as part of their investment.

The Today I received section is not to be used for businesses to promote their business. Trade members and those operating as a business in the eyes of the forum are invited to enquire about a Dealer Sub Forum, where you may start your own Today _____ received topic to post your commercial purchases. E.g. The Today Chards Received..... topic.

Theirs are 338.79 ea. , inclusive of post, yours are 338.99 ea. inc post, a whole £1 cheaper for the 5 lol

I appreciate that you didnt say you were always cheapest, and I accept we could go through numerous different examples all day long testing each other, however let's just shake on it, no point arguing over £1 🤣

Ah, I realise now that you were showing screenshots of two different websites, side by side, but without any explanation or captions. It would have helped if you had added some futher information to make it idiot-prood, such as "my mates website" on the left, and Chards website on the right, together with a summary of the differences.

If you told us who the other site was instead of leaving it as a guessing game, I, or anyone coulf check for themselves.

I also guess that for all others quantities, we were cheaper.

It also looke like we were cheaper if you collected rather than opted for delivery.

It is also difficult to know whether the unnamed dealer allows collection, or whether they are just a mail order operation.

I wonder how secure your personal data is on their site?

😎

The other dealer, as I'm sure you well know, is Atkinsons Bullion

As I live in Northern Ireland collection is irrelevant to me, and I'd imagine the most of the United Kingdom as unless one lives in Blackpool its not really realistic is it?

For higher quantities A* actually still come in cheaper and by a higher margin the further up one goes, I've attached one for 10 Sovs, which I very much doubt the average punter is going to be buying much more than

😎

I received this very nice George V 1918 Sydney mint sovereign from @kurama who is a new member selling on the forum.

The 1918 sovereign date and Sydney branch mint isn’t seen very often despite its mintage.

It’s certainly seen less than the 1918 I, P and M branch mint sovereigns.

Thank you for naming the other dealer. What we have noticed over several years is that he / they appear to check the prices of leading dealers including Chards, then knock 50 pence off the single coin price so they appear to be cheaper to those who only use the price comparison sites which only or mainly record the single coin prices.

More serious investors usually look deeper.

Also you have selected one product, I guess you are an Atkinsons fan.

Look at a product with more investment volume, such as 2022 gold Britannias, and the picture is different:

Sadly not, but then that could be down to the fact I haven't ordered anything interesting

Not today, but last week. 1 OZ Britannia with lion. It took a while, but now i like the design. Some 2020 Red Kangaroos, Redback Spiders and all three Mob of Roos privys from 2019 by the RAM. And, my luckiest buy, the Cook Islands 2 OZ Black Proof Anchor and Airplane Propeller by CIT. I had those, but it was a bargain. I'm absolute addicted to Smartminting coins, it's really a obsession.

Not my mate, nor am I an A* fanboy, simply pointing out that they are cheaper. It is irrelevant how they check or compare, if he's 50p per coin cheaper, then he's cheaper lol

On that note I done a quick check on the Brit example, maybe your comparison table is out a bit?

😎
