Today I Received.....

Message added by ChrisSilver

The Today I received section is for private individuals to share items they have purchased for their collection / as part of their investment.

The Today I received section is not to be used for businesses to promote their business. Trade members and those operating as a business in the eyes of the forum are invited to enquire about a Dealer Sub Forum, where you may start your own Today _____ received topic to post your commercial purchases. E.g. The Today Chards Received..... topic.

Yes it is a crazy place. I felt bad getting such a crazy low price for that beautiful coin but I did know it went to a good home which made it a little better.

Not much love for Britannias, maybe you should do a Britannia video with you registry set?

Oh no, I hadn’t realised it was yours. I’ve felt that sinking feeling more than once myself. She will join her sisters in my 1/4 oz proof Britannia collection. Was it in the proof coins category? I’ve always had more luck listing gold coins of any variety in the general gold bullion coin category. It seems to get more traffic.

@Numistacker what do you make of the coin? it could be me but the rim looks all over the place.... or is that what they all look like under magnification?

I think its typical of the royal mint!!!! Shoddy workmanship as usual.

My first Victoria sovs.  An 1889-M Jubilee and an 1893-M Veiled.  I need to find a young head now.  Picked up for just a tad over spot.  These vintage sovereigns are so much more satisfying then modern bullion sovs, although I do like anything shiny if the price is right.

That's my way of thinking, I'd rather have something with 100+ years history attached to it for the around the same price as a bullion sov, beautiful!

The hunt is on!
