Wind the clock back to February 10th, I’m awake at 0400am, and notice a new post in this thread...a 1oz Privy Kookaburra I hadn’t got!!

I sent a quick PM to CoinStruck to ask if he could tell me where he had sourced the coin from, as I had never seen it before..A few minutes later I get a reply...’If You want one, I can pop back and get you one’!.yes, he was actually at the Perth Money Expo!!!

Not knowing if it was going to be easy for other forum members to get this coin, I bought a spare one, and today they have arrived in the post...all safe and sound with no dreaded surcharge etc...😀.

1873 Shield - Unrecorded Die number 24. There is a large gap in the die numbers for this year from 23 - 100 with only 2 being found in between. This die number wasn't found by the Bentley collector either, it's assumed that Marsh's records are incorrect for these large runs of gaps that he claimed existed from RM and other records.

It's nice to improve upon other cataloguers records with new additions!

Some overstamp on the 2 in die number also, can't check it further right now as don't have scope handy

I got mine for €67.50, which is about the same. That was two months ago, the cheapest I could get one now from the same dealer is €69.00. So I'd say, the price you paid is fair.

Good to know. Still expensive don't you think. My objective is to have collection  completed so not worried  about spending a bit more. Maybe they get even more value in the future

Not exactly PM but still really cool. These have been in my family for 50+ years and they have now been handed down to me. 1831 and 1851 large cents. There used to be more in this collection but over the years most have been dwindled away befor being passed down. Still happy to have them safe and sound!
