I thought this but the royal mint stated that the only way to get the 5 sov is via the 5 coin set (screenshot attached) so I think as its a special year the additional will be gifted to key royal dignitaries, diplomats, commonwealth countries, presidents that fly in etc around the jubilee celebrations. With full sov being more plentiful they will be gifted more widely whereas the 100 5 coin sets will be reserved for the more "important" folk (and 10 of each for Trial of the Pyx of course 😊)

That still seems like a massive unforgivable lie if one could own a proof edition simply by becoming a president of a small country (or anything else that also happens to be easier than surviving the queuing system).

  2. I got a phone call to say my £11 postage charge has been refunded onto my account's prepayment credit.  Fair enough, they know I'll be back!

But they were seemingly oblivious to the email I sent yesterday, where I had asked for it to be refunded and also pointed out that I was unable to get free postage on the sovereigns.

They also took the opportunity to ask me what kind of things I would be expecting to find in the box. I said a Sovereign would be nice! But failing that, some gold and silver things would be good. I'll be disappointed if it contains a limited edition A4 print of a Sovereign :D

I have had a few bags of 1 gram (+/-) coins on my desk, half sorted, for about 6 months. Although we bought these cheaply, spot gold or less, they are hardly worth the time and effort to sort out. We should probably market them in random goody bags, and sell them by weight.

There you go @LawrenceChard, that's two goody bags taken care of if you want to add both of us to the priority queue :D

    Only 13 half sovereigns available

    328 Full Sovereigns

Cannot seem to work my magic on the prints - but considering they have a 150 mintage and literally 10,000 coins have been bought I don't think these prints have been a hit!

I would probably have bought one if they were £25 each - but £95 seems too much 😞

    3 prints left
