Today I Received.....

Message added by ChrisSilver

The Today I received section is for private individuals to share items they have purchased for their collection / as part of their investment.

The Today I received section is not to be used for businesses to promote their business. Trade members and those operating as a business in the eyes of the forum are invited to enquire about a Dealer Sub Forum, where you may start your own Today _____ received topic to post your commercial purchases. E.g. The Today Chards Received..... topic.

i also create some "unsellable" listings during eBay seller offer time and switch then the item in (e.g the 1887 is available as it is too good for my bullion bag but not good enough for grading)

That 1887 is nice.

rooster proof start to tannish

@Turkish, if I’m not mistaken, in photo, your Rwandan Rooster is BU...the Rwandan Silver BUs come in the sealed plastic “blister” packaging. The Proofs come in the capsules. Great selection though, and I really like the Rwandan Lunars and Nautical series.

@Turkish, thanks! Definitely agree with the  Rwandan’s do have the best Lunar Rooster...to be honest, the Rwandan Lunars are the only Lunars I have in my collection. I think you made a good choice with the Oriental border Britannias. And I have done similar with taking some sound advice from other savvy members on The Silver Forum. Of which, @coinosseur has a great book he has written and @caloundracats I believe may have a couple of copies left for sale. This might be of help as well...

Just ordered this book myself. My main strategy is stacking gold, but I think reading around the other PMs is essential to get an idea of the stacking/collecting environment!

As part of my upgrading program for the WW I details coin:

1913 Bulgaria 2 Leva MS62+

The obverse has an interesting purple toning, which i struggle to capture. Little known fact: Ferdinand I is a relative of Prince Albert – both are from the house of Saxe Coburg and Gotha.

I haven’t been posting very much in the received thread over the last three months.

I have been selling more than I have been buying in order to fund a very special purchase.

Today I picked up this special purchase from BSJ auctions.

PCGS have graded only 2 coins of this type.  In 1825 they were no formal proof Sovereigns issued. A few were minted as proofs of record for internal or VIP use.

One of these coins is in the tyrant collection -  and the Other is now in my collection...
