Today I Received.....

Message added by ChrisSilver

The Today I received section is for private individuals to share items they have purchased for their collection / as part of their investment.

The Today I received section is not to be used for businesses to promote their business. Trade members and those operating as a business in the eyes of the forum are invited to enquire about a Dealer Sub Forum, where you may start your own Today _____ received topic to post your commercial purchases. E.g. The Today Chards Received..... topic.

Even by RM standards that is lamentable. Have you printed the returns label yet?

I can't as I don't have an order number, so I'll have to phone them up next week.  Incredibly, this was supposed to be a freebie to make up for a different problem!

How can the Royal Mint send that rabbit out as a PROOF! That is shockingly bad.

Those Middlesex spoons are bloody lovely. What year is the hallmark?

Birmingham, 1904.

At that point their official title seems to have been the "1st Middlesex and 6th (St George's) Rifle Volunteer Corps." Later to become part of the Territorial Force. The Rifle Volunteers are an interesting thing.

Now my oldest sovereign in the collection. Figured if there is ever a gold confiscation, chances are that rare 19th century coins might be exempt. Similar to what Lynette Zang from ITM Trading posted here on the US gold confiscation and which coins were exempt: https://www.itmtrading.com/blog/gold-laws-revealed-what-you-didnt-know-about-gold-laws-by-lynette-zang/
