They make you feel like you are already one month in, so one more month won’t hurt, then give you the bad news of another month, and then another etc. Taking people for fools 😤

These sovereigns might land at the same time as the free tudor beast box 😆 hell they may arrive in a tudor beast box ffs.

I like to buy the pre-dip dip

I’ve gone ahead and cancelled. Although I thought there’d be a ‘cancel’ option but couldn’t find one so sent an email via the contact us page. To those that have done this before, is that the right way to do it? Thanks

That’s what I did, on contact us page selected commemorative coins then cancel order on the drop down,  used my account number in customer code and the order id in product field.

I phoned. It’s the quickest way and they send a confirmation email

I've just cancelled 13k worth of orders with the Royal Mint and it might be a bit more in the morning.  It's becoming utterly pointless I've waited a YEAR I'll say that again a YEAR for coins that they are still tossing me off.   I've also dumped some 2022 memorial sets are no way I'm I loading up on those now with a February delivery date.

It feels like we are being stitched up like a kipper, especially when theres likely to be 2 proof sovereigns in 2023.   I might keep hold of 2 of the memorial 5 coin sets but thats about it for me.

Going forward folks if they don't dispatch coins within the same month they take the money for I've got a feeling they will get bombarded with cancellations.

Yes a year for the 1kg silver gothics and they still can not confirm a delivery date.  The mint are taking millions up front for coins they don't have the banks to fulfil the orders.  This is also why I'm bailing out of most of the 2022 memorial sovereigns.

Don't cancel the 5 coin sets. I will take them off you and you can have them back when you've had a snickers! Like coronation street tonight.

I would be looking to any individual/company to be respectful and honest in their qc as with any purchase, be it clothing, or any goods. That is basic customer service. And if a company or individual cannot provide assurances in action  or full refunds, then that company/individual is not trustworthy. Customer service 101 to my mind…obviously.

It is not the end of my world if I receive a sub par thing but I do expect a full refund or mutually agreed equivalent nominal value item(s) as recompense, should any failure in the original legal agreement occur. I am not bound by accepting sub par products just for procuring a bit of supposed historical reference. But looking forward to a pristine set :) I have no reason to think otherwise.

There is no question that the dealers we all use to buy these sovereigns from wouldn't fulfil their legal and moral obligations.

However, some of these RM issues we are buying are in great demand both from the Mint and these retailers. Many times we have heard stories that buyers, upon receiving substandard coins from the Mint haven't been able to get replacement coins. It is not guaranteed but the Mint does seem to be improving in this area recently.

In the case I previously mentioned, I am sure, had I managed to get a set from the MInt, I would have been able to receive a replacement. I was not given this promise from Chards, but was told to return it and they will look at it. I was loath to do so without reassurance that I would be able to get a replacement if they had to send it back.

Don't get me wrong, I am not complaining about the service I received, merely pointing it out to promote discussion. I knew before I bought the set that there was a risk I would get an imperfect coin and not be able to get a replacement. I accepted that risk.

This thread is sooooo confusing!

Are you talking about the 2022 Platinum Jubilee coins here?

🤔

Technically, alcohol is a solution..

'It [socialism] poses a growing threat, however unintentional, to the freedom of this country, for there is no freedom where the State totally controls the economy. Personal freedom and economic freedom are indivisible. You can’t have one without the other. You can’t lose one without losing the other.'

"There is no such thing as public money, there is only taxpayers' money"

Let not England forget her precedence of teaching nations how to live.

The Memorial coins.... People are disappointed that they haven't received them yet so are either considering cancelling or already have.

To my thinking, it's not really acceptable to make people wait so long for a flagship coin that a lot of people would have been looking forward to. But, that is unfortunately the case with these memorial sovereigns. On here when there was a leaked photo posted nearly everyone loved it, I still do think the coin looks amazing. I've maxed out every penny on my RM account to get these coins and sets, but I do think the price is quite high, and it is hard to justify that, so I will just wait until the coins finally do arrive and make my mind up then, can always send it back if I don't like it.
