Received in the post yesterday. Two recent buys from a Sydney coin auction.

First is a lovely 1894 Sydney sovereign. Picture does not do it justice, great proof like fields.

The second is a bullion 1/4oz gold Britannia.

After a futile wait of over four years for the appearance of a singleton 2016 silver £1 coin on Feebay (or anywhere else), I decided to bite the bullet when the full year set turned up in auction. A total mintage of 383 sets (0 individual coins) makes the definitive 1p - £1 coins the rarest silver decimal (standard denomination) proofs ever.

 

An extensive 16 coin set with 6 x £2, including the 3 Shakespeare coins, and the "Last Round Pound". The question, once again, is whether to split the set up...

Keep them together if you can future worth surely will be more plus they look really nice as a set

Always a lovely day when two orders have come in. 

The first a silver order. As silver bullion has been going a bit crazy lately, I decided to purchase some collectibles instead. One 2020 Canadian polar light series (because I'm a sucker for both Canada, and the aurora borealis), two 2020 Solomon Island coins about Pi, and two 2020 Mayflowers from the British Virgin Islands.

The second order was a gold one. A 1915 Helvetia that I couldn't resist.

A coin I never thought I would see, let alone own.! After a rather unpleasant bidding war in the early hours, an erroneous VAT bill from our friends at Border Force (claim for a refund already submitted), it has finally arrived from the good old US of A 🇺🇸!

A 1961 Peruvian Una Libra (Sovereign of South America) - why so rare?.      MINTAGE - 402

Its tricky to take good pictures today (really sunny), so these pics were taken putting the coin under water to stop the glare...a first attempt..comments welcomed on another thread maybe!

Congratulations! With a mintage like that it will need grading 😀

I have lost count of the refunds made having been charged the wrong import duty, when you point out they do not know the regulations supported by the appropriate links the refunds are very quick 🙂

Another collectibles order having come in. One I had to wait over a month for, it took a while before my LCS had the silver proof 2020 Britannias in.

So yeah, one of the 3 coins is a silver proof 2020 Britannia. The other 2 being a silver 2019 Columbia Allegories, and a (ridiculously small 😂) gold 1915 Austrian 1 ducat, because I thought it was cool to have something dated back to the Austrian-Hungarian empire. 🤷‍♂️

Another import from the US of A 🇺🇸, Miami this time...and no customs charge😃.

I have an example of a 1968, but have never seen a ‘Proof Like’ Una Libra before... so ‘had to have it’👍
I can find the coin on the NGC verification page, but cannot find it listed on the census...any ideas as to where It might be recorded would be appreciated.

I've had a couple where the certificate number was verified but the coin was not on the census - or the other way around, just contact NGC and they usually correct things quickly.

The reason may be that it was recently graded and thus not made it to online census yet, or it was graded a long time ago (in an old holder) and just not been added to the census, or it is just a mistake. Given the number of yours I would guess the former!

Regrettably no gold received, but did get some added Platinum to the stack!

Taking advantage of The Royal Mints’ 50% off sale a couple of weeks ago, a nice 2018 The 70th Birthday of HRH the Prince of Wales Quarter-Ounce Platinum Proof Coin...

 

Also, the largest platinum add to the stack, a 2020 1 oz Platinum American Eagle BU...purchased at the lows and before all stock went to practically nill...

Lastly, a bit of silver, the second in the Dinosauria collection from The Royal Mint, an attractive 2020 Silver Proof Colour Iguanodon 50p coin...
