Today I Received.....

Message added by ChrisSilver

The Today I received section is for private individuals to share items they have purchased for their collection / as part of their investment.

The Today I received section is not to be used for businesses to promote their business. Trade members and those operating as a business in the eyes of the forum are invited to enquire about a Dealer Sub Forum, where you may start your own Today _____ received topic to post your commercial purchases. E.g. The Today Chards Received..... topic.

Nice pickup from @Spanishsilver today. Great price too, I think people seem to ignore the graded section in the marketplace here which is odd to me. Still, got me a bargain on this

Yes, like graded but use “latest” for sale option more than graded. Graded is just a bonus.

I'm still on the fence at 30 quid a pop for a round. Do they live up to the hype?

I received mine today. Are they worth £30? They are Scottsdale Mint and high quality for a round. If you buy direct from Scottsdale the cheapest you can get them is £29 and from SDBullion it will be £29+ including shipping and taxes (which are charged at the checkout). The member selling on TSF is offering a good price and I bought them so obviously I recommend them. Lovely in hand, look better in person than in pictures. I was going to buy them myself from the US so the honourable @Johnboysilver did me a favour

These queens beast proofs are such perfect examples of how a proof coin should look. So aesthetically pleasing on the eye

Beasts may be my next additions to start buying

Absolutely.

Definitely worth grabbing any of them, as they're all really nice designs, and as you say,  aesthetically pleasing.

Can see so much more of the design and detail on the proofs.

Sent some more off for grading - hoping for nothing less than a 69 - fingers and Yale hoofs crossed!

Two maples. Not a fan of this particular version or our late Queen's portrait, but the coins are beautiful overall especially with this radial hologram.

Then an 1820, an 1832 2nd obverse, and an 1872. These came in NGC holders but I cracked them out (as I do to all my coins—much nicer to be able to hold something in hand, but makes it hard to resell)

The 1902 matt £5, £2, £1/2, as well as a circulation £1/2. The circulation £1/2 is a small change but it's so difficult to find one in good condition, much harder than larger denominations in fact. I've got another matt £5 which is overall in lower grade, I think, but unfortunately this one has some small scratch on the portrait, otherwise a perfect example.

Guess next'll have to be George IV sovs.
