These look amazing Paul. You did really well getting two. What magic did you perform to achieve that? I thought the limit was one per customer. 😉

Hi all and good luck with this one. I logged in on my pc at 9 on release day and i was like 36th in line. When i got in everything was available, so naturally i went for the 1 oz proof gold. I had my wife next to me trying to get one for her too as we are both collectors 🙂. Whatever i was pressing to put in my cart kept the website crushing sending me on the homepage. My wife actually put the gold 1oz proof in the cart and she was completing the order but for some reason it didn’t go through. After a few minutes of screaming, cold sweat and a bit of crying..
We finally grabbed our phones and logged in from there and managed to both get 1oz gold proof coins! I am not sure if the coins will actually arrive but we are crossing our fingers that our otders wont be cancelled. Everything was sold out in couple of minutes really! We also got the silver 1oz version which i see has also sold out within 24 hours! This coin is one of the most beautiful i have seen and hope to get it soon and add it to my collection soon 🥰

I am 100% certain I saw the 2oz silver on the mints website earlier with a "Register Interest" button. I am sure it was limited to 100. It's not there now, but I imagine at some point...

I was thinking the same. Wasn't sure if I imagined it. It was sold out within seconds. Ended up getting the 5oz

Lets see if anything shifts

Interesting to see they seem to have waited until having them in hand this go around. I was expecting to see this sooner.

You could register your interest for 100 of the 2 OZ Silver. Maybe you got regulations like Australia, that some part of coins in your currency has to stay in UK, or has to be offered in the UK, even if its an exclusive for some kind of foreign dealer.  To avoid this the Perth Mint releases the Tuvalu exlusives of LPM, APMEX....

But i have seen the 2 OZ on the RM side one time, a minute later they were gone

I've been discussing this release with @Roy and @SilverMike and we can't help but think the Royal Mint missed a trick here, in terms of them engraving the Mary Gillick Portrait on the Reverse.  Its the perfect tie in- Her Majesty's Coronation Beasts and her first Portrait- full circle.

That would have been insane. They should have done that

@CadmiumGreen was first. But he had had a few whiskeys 🤣

It would make a fantastic coin.

After a couple of whiskey’s, was having a little retrospective on the design. I really like this design compilation to bookend the Queen’s Beasts series and also as a standalone design. It complements well. However, in thinking about the overall design, given the actual Queen’s Beasts presentation at HRH’s coronation on 02 June 1953, I think it would have been a fitting portrayal having the coin’s reverse effigy of Queen Elizabeth II from her 1953 obverse. With the coin’s obverse of her current effigy, as it is.

:D

My 1oz proof arrived today.

Apologies for the photos bad phone and bad user!

Really pleased with it.

Does anyone think I should get it graded? Or just leave it? I'd be interested in the Numastisticians in you lot as I am not one. I normally collect bullion hence the name.

But saw the design I was hooked.

I am tempted to get mine graded but unsure yet. I am certainly not a numismatist (I am a beginner so don't listen to me)  but I feel this coin has a real presence, timelessness and historical feel about it. Of course and the striking design.

The NGC have a 45 working day turn around and personally not sure I want to send it away for that amount of time at present.

Waiting for the postman . Get a move on !

I am thinking of selling the proof 1 once gold when it arrives and get the bullion. As they both look amazing without the 2x price tag for the proof on the spot.

I wonder what other people think in my position
