Today I received my South African 1 and 1/2 pond coins . Even though I lived in South Africa I never realised that there were gold coins in circulation as normal currency .

Awesome!! That's how I store all my gold coins too (that aren't slabbed or carded..). I presume you got it from that same one supplier in the US? Hard to get them in the UK locally.

I got them from a guy on a Facebook group. Pretty damn expensive.

Likely Antony Savage who generally charges about £6 a tube and £1 a capsule or £25 for a tube full of capsules 

You can get the capsules from @morezone just search for airtites there is a long running thread. He no longer holds tubes, I have a few spare tubes (new style) and I think @James32 may have some spares too as has @Touvex

Only took 2 weeks! Can be 4-6 weeks sometimes.

Is the packaging slightly excessive? 5 boxes, like opening a Russian doll, or 'pass the parcel'!

Had this turn up from France today. Not easy to come by and puts a bit of a spanner in the works lol. I didn't expect it to be in a display box so now have to decide whether to bust it open and free it? I think you all know what I'm going to do......just need the cap first lol. Another gold 1/10th has its cousin. Pictures of them to follow on the stack thread or the 1/10th coin run thread eventually.

Yeah it does look nicer in gold. I'd love it in the 1oz gold but gold prices on a silver budget means just the tenths for me. Its really hard to find any of these without any toning as well, I don't think I've seen an untarnished one for sale to be honest. But hey ho..... its part of the character. I'm chuffed to bits with it.
