Today I Received.....

Message added by ChrisSilver

The Today I received section is for private individuals to share items they have purchased for their collection / as part of their investment.

The Today I received section is not to be used for businesses to promote their business. Trade members and those operating as a business in the eyes of the forum are invited to enquire about a Dealer Sub Forum, where you may start your own Today _____ received topic to post your commercial purchases. E.g. The Today Chards Received..... topic.

Any chance of having a look at the obverse of the Vic 200.  I'm having a battle with the RM on one, and wouldn't mind examining the finish. Thanks Karl

Yeah when I was a kid they were used as 5p's if I remember.

Respectfully I think Silverfinger means Florins  (real money) were used as 10np's ...

That aside they look like they are in perfect nick unlike the last few I purchased which were starting to look  like ludo counters with barely detectable dates.... very envious....

Are these genuine or repros?

I am hoping Genuine lol. Gold purity checks out.  Markings, weight size all look good. Will need to get them checked out by an expert. Got them for gold weight at just a bit over spot so either way no big loss...

If they are genuine gold stators then theyd be a heluva lot more then £20 each.

They aren’t Staters mate, these are fanams.

Staters are Greek. Fanams are Indian and from 17th to 18th Centuries. There are many of them out there.
