Today I Received.....

Message added by ChrisSilver

The Today I received section is for private individuals to share items they have purchased for their collection / as part of their investment.

The Today I received section is not to be used for businesses to promote their business. Trade members and those operating as a business in the eyes of the forum are invited to enquire about a Dealer Sub Forum, where you may start your own Today _____ received topic to post your commercial purchases. E.g. The Today Chards Received..... topic.

@augur Thank you so much my friend, that is really very helpful and interesting! :)

I will have a good read later - just spotted 'Issunig Authority' though, bit careless!

Hope it's OK, just linked to your post on the Indian Sov thread as I'm sure it'd interest a lot of folks there? :)

I can’t see the extra band on the headband @soveriegnsteve ?

sorry, no.

the 59 tends to have quite a broad lower edge to the headband. In certain light on certain photos, it can look as though it's two lines but if you look closely, you can see they are the two edges of a raised part. This aspect does tend to vary quite a lot in YH sovs.

trust me, I've looked extremely closely at loads of 59's:P

Grading results back from Numi (thanks - as ever!).

The good news - PF70 on the 2016 gold Libertad proof 1/4 and Perth Mint sovereigns. Splendid.

The bad news - even after sifting through a few to select, only got an MS66 QB Griffin 1/4 and a bit better (MS69) for the QB Dragon.  I have more work to do to secure them in MS70! The shame.....?

Surely MS69 is far, far better than a 66? A set of 70s will be very hard to build from what I've heard - they're bullion coins. 69s for most collectors might be the best they can hope to put together without spending 'a lot'.

If you ever sell your 69 Dragon I'd be interested, please let me know :)

You really need to put somthing like a 50p in the picture to give a scale, you don't get a sense of how impressive the are.
