Very nice strike, has the usual contact marks on her shoulders but nothing to detract from the coin one of the nicest strikes I've seen, the satin lustre you get with Gillick's is sublime.

Yes the lustre in these is beautiful. Just love the way is shines.

Any ruff idea on the grade

Ones gone today on feebay via "best offer" list price £3,999 a few hours back

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PRE-ORDER-2022-PLATINUM-JUBILEE-GOLD-FIVE-5-SOVEREIGN-BRILLIANT-UNCIRCULATED-/115521574709

so sold somewhere been list price of £2650 and £3998

Okay already gone rather unaffordable.

I’m surprised it took a while to sell out. Weird because people were paying almost £1,000 for the Proof Sovereign; this would’ve made so much more sense at issue price.

Can get one on coin connection 2935 with code "locker"

They are to grade and if they don't get a 70 you get your money back

And there we are with our cotton gloves and capsules. The bloke literally pings them off a slab ffs.

At the end of the day, apart from ‘bag marks’, on sovereigns from that period, marks are usually from life outside the mint, so the process was pretty much ok?🤔

Not unlike an expectant father again, I’ve anxiously waited for this Sixpence to arrive from the USA, it having been held to ransom by the courier, initially demanding 20% HMRC VAT/Duty.

Now it has finally landed, I don’t think I have ever been so thrilled to receive a coin.

An exceptional example of a Charles I (1625- 1649) Sixpence. Briot’s First Milled issue 1631-32 mm Flower & B. obv. His crowned bust left with falling lace collar and VI behind.  Rev. Square topped shield/ long cross dividing arms. 2.99g, 26mm,  Spink 2855

I feel fortunate to own this lovely Sixpence, I’m not sure I’ll find another 400 year old coin in such condition.
