2022 Sovereign design revealed?

I don't know if anyone has had a similar issue but my bank account looks like it's been refunded with the original payment of £955 for the 3 coin set. There's no payment taken showing now but also no refund showing either. I looked in my open orders and it's not in there any more but it does show in my closed orders with a green "dispatched" showing. I don't know if they've canceled my order and refunded or they've dispatched and everything is alright. I did ask them to deliver at the end of November which they agreed to but not sure what the score is now. I wouldn't be too worried if it wasn't for the extra money in my bank and that there's no sign of a payment being made to the royal mint. I'm a bit more then confused right now!?!?

I'm sure it will appear in time and they will charge you.

I just awoke to a notification that they have charged me for the 5 coin set that was dispatched yesterday that had until this morning not been charged.

Hopefully it will all work out!

Don't worry, it's more likely the Bat S crazy RM accounting system.  Sometimes they refund the amount only to take it back to process the order.  Why?  I don't know.  Also at times they only take the payment 3-4 days after its been delivered.

Still waiting for mine. It moved to closed orders yesterday, still pending with the bank. No dispatch email.

Was hoping it might arrive today but that's very unlikely. Never mind

I bought a three coin set. The order went from open to closed on Wednesday and then I got a despatch notification via text and email on Thursday and it was delivered yesterday. 

As for finances, the order moved from pending to completed over night.

Looks great and far better in hand than I had imagined.

Using the search term '2022 Sovereign' on eBay on Saturday 20/11/2021:

 

The amount of 2022 Sovereigns for sale (all denominations and sets) is currently surprisingly few, given the amount of coins/ sets issued- there's currently only 36 sales posts using the search term described above.

 

In terms of sales- using the same search terms, here's the action so far- surprisingly few sales at 30.  Figures not quite accurate as some sales include 'best offer accepted':

 

5 Coin set- 3 Sales ranging between £5795 through £6995- Average sale price- £6430

4 Coin Set- NONE

3 Coin set- 5 Sales ranging between £1195 through £1650- Average sale price- £1388

Sovereign- 14 Sales ranging between £699 through £799- Average sale price- £750

Half Sovereign-  7 Sales ranging between £375 through £415- Average sale price- £399

Sovereign/ Half Sovereign combo- 1 Sale at £1300

 

The Opportunity takers don't appear to be out force.

First, love the design in the flesh, its incredible. Second, the size of the big coins, stunning. 

HOWEVER

Quintuple sovereign capsule was OPEN 

There is a scratch/ding/frosting issue on the edge of the coin as a consequence. 

HOW does this happen.

This is SO bitterly disappointing because it is an issue that is so easily remedied compared to the cost of making or selling these sets.

I will be sending this back and INSISTING on a replacement/reminting of the coin. I do not want to miss out on such a stunning coin and I hope they will take this seriously. 

Makes good content for YouTube I guess, but I would far rather good coins.

Condition has been annoying 

I settled for mine now  (which is wrong really I know )and packed them away as I returned one proof coin 3 times this year and got giving back a even worse replacement 

In the end I got a refund and don’t really want to go through all that again 

be good to see what backyard does, I think it will help a few of us out on here on what to do.

2017 all over again - although with such a massive number of coins rushed maybe we expect too much for every coin to be perfect.  I think I will settle with mine too - the replacements may come from other returns - I think this was some of our experience in the past.  I feel our collective pain!

Totally feel your pain byb, it’s crazy the RM can not get the simplest things right. There’s only 700 of these set so it’s not impossible for a couple of people to throughly check and QC.  Do everything you can to keep hold of the set and just send the £5 back, this makes it impossible for them to palm you off with a refund especially if the other 4 coins are good. 
 

I’ve ordered a few sets, hoping to make a little profit but also if they send me any S..T coins I can pick out the best and the send the POS set back for a full refund.

At least if everyone posts similarly detailed photos of the coins they'll be returning, it'll be pretty evident which ones end up being palmed off as replacements!

I still haven't received my repackaged Trial of the Pyx coin (started the process on 14 Oct) so I hope I don't have to go through all this again for a sovereign.

Feels like they are too busy making millions by selling new things to bother with providing anything like an acceptable level of customer service for existing orders.

So, the half sovereign I bought arrived this morning (due yesterday but no one to sign for so delayed it a day) 

I’ve popped my cherry twice with this order:

1. First time dealing with the Royal Mint

2. First time not buying just bullion to stack 

 

and what can I say.... I’ve enjoyed every minute of it!!

the tease and build up to the launch

hanging on edge whilst waiting for my lucky queue number to drop

the eyeing up of all the pretty pieces but knowing what’s within my range and the ease of slipping that little beauty into my basket

more waiting and teasing of stories from other people’s experiences 

and then the ringing of my bell

(I even swear the postie could see the joy in my face when he handed me my box)

even the unboxing was a joy.... stripping away layer after layer of gorgeous outer garments until finally reaching the final piece

breath held.... and open!!

WHAT A BEAUTY!!! 

I can’t fault any part of this experience. No pain, no tears and no regrets!

Not sure mate, I’ve only heard of requests to return entire sets for replacement. If you could send only 1 coin that would be better.

Suggest anyone who returns a set publishes the Coa number here for each other’s reference.

Returns have to be of the entire product, not just the single coin that is bad.

I would expect the Royal Mint to send me a replacement if they have any held back for these situations, if that replacement is a bad one then I would expect them to remint such a prestigious set, especially considering its very high monetary value.

I will be pushing this for as many times as it takes to get a perfect set.

I do not want to miss out on this set. 

Will of course be sharing my disappointment and returns/replacement journey on YouTube.

I just hope the 4 coin set I ordered will be good.
