After several weeks of searching and then waiting on delivery, I finally received 85 bona fide new stylie second class stamps this morning thanks to @arphethean.  Cheers mate👍

The detailing on the obverse is sublime with a beautiful emerald shimmer. I am quite disappointed with the reverse of this edition however, it does seem quite plain. Oh well🤷, they were quite cheap in bulk!

Not for the long term stack, I'll probably let a few go as and when, but they are nice in hand and I would definitely recommend that everyone should have a few of these at some point.

These have made my day, I had to share👊😉

Just in case there is any doubt, I have Sigma tested all of these and can guarantee they are all 000 fine silver.

Wow Mark - great collection. MS70s get hard tot find the further back you go. In terms of your collection - you are missing the standard version of 2009. Should be an easy one to find in MS70 as a common year.

2002 seems to be fetching around the $200 mark in China

2008 looks to be around £100.

1987 is one I don't have in my collection so really interested in that one. Unfortunately only worth £20 in an MS69 grade :(

Only kidding :D it's somewhere in the £400 to £450 region - hope for  @DavePanda to correct me if I'm wrong on this.

Interestingly the 5oz being less popular for collectors, much less demand - will be in the £350 to £400 region.

  3. There's been some excellent advice given in this thread.

No problem to have a couple of 1oz coins in your stack but I would advise against going all 1oz as they are far more difficult to sell peer to peer. Especially if trying to sell a quantity.

Sovereigns are far more liquid and you would not have much difficulty letting go of 20k worth of sovereigns quickly at over spot.

  4. Congratulations! Wishing you every success. I remember distinctly that last day at my job and going full time into Haven, feeling like I'd just pushed my boat out into open water and clambering in, suddenly thinking that the water beneath me seemed pretty deep and the horizon vast. Scary, but liberating in equal measure. Haven't looked back since though. I love it!

  5. Fantastic price on silver Britannias at sharps pixley

    https://www.sharpspixley.com/buy-bullion/buy-silver/silver-coins/mixed-silver-britannia

Was thinking of proposing a group order but the tiered pricing is too shallow after 5 coins to make it worthwhile. Unless anyone wanted to pay by Paypal?

So fill your boots folks, and contact me if you want to take part in a group order.

London high shield I'd say a DISH L508 variety. Reasonably good condition

Lovely - thank you. I was looking at that and hoping it was in that  region.

Looks pretty average condition so I would find it acceptable to add to my collection.
As for value that's a difficult one to answer.
Victorian Shields are sought after nowadays and in a private sale perhaps 25% over spot ?
As gold is at a high I wouldn't care to go much above this and if selling you might find this premium hard to get.
Definitely worth more than a non-shield in my opinion.

Super - that's right about what I paid for it so pretty pleased with that, and yes, market timing not great but it's to hold and cherish so shouldn't matter in the long run.

I'm pleased that there's good detail surviving especially on the shield side and it has an eye appeal which is what mattered to me.

    It was indeed by car.

    About 1980 in a Mercedes 450 SEL 6.9

It was metallic gold colour (what else), but just looked like any other boring three box saloon, so it hardly ever got a second glance from police traffic officers.

One frosty Sunday morning, starting about 7.00 a.m. via M6. I did have to slow down every time we passed the Services, as there were typically 2 police Range Rovers sitting on the exit ramps watching.

Average speed was just over 100 m.p.h.

Now, I reckon 50 m.p.h. average would be optimistic!

    🙂

Imagine what you could have done in a red one!

Thanks for the replies guys and yes I have pano I want to sell. 1g 2.5g and 10g what’s the odds I can get over £700 for them all together ? Lol I’m looking at £710.20 to be precise. Over £100 less on bbp. 🌝

I would be willing to pay 2% over spot for this at £670 with post included which I feel is a fair offer and better than you'll get from any dealer. It would be just as others have described - you would send first, I would pay you on delivery of the goods and provide you with glowing feedback so as to help you with your next sale. You will see from my feedback record that I have built up a reputation on the forum as a trustworthy and honest chap to deal with. Let me know if this would be of interest :)
