What’s peoples thoughts on the 5 sov BU. I have always wanted a 5 sov piece, but can’t really afford the proof 5 set. Not looking at flipping, but holding as a piece of history for the kids. It is definitely a beautiful design, better than the 2022 jubilees IMO. Works out at 580 per sov equivalent, is this really worth it for BU ?

It’s a tricky question as they will never hold the same provenance of the proof £5.  If you are not flipping then there’s not a problem so buy it.  I bought the 2022 matte just got it back from the NGC.

But how do you fondle your sovereigns if they're stuck in a plastic case?

Or am I missing something?

The Sovereign is the quintessentially British coin.  It has a German queen on the front, an Italian waiter on the back, and half of them were made in Australia.

I had a feeling that January was just a protective statement. Happy days, can't wait to see them in real life.

I like to buy the pre-dip dip
