  1. More likely to get away or trying to get away with more flaws with matt proof as long as the frost covers it up.
  2. NCG will probably pass this as a PF70 because its manufacturing error. It will have been better if they omitted "Pistrucci" altogether then you have a rare variety. I notice this with RM proofs were coins struck with worn dies are merely frosted over to conceal the defect. Chances are you see a perfect coin but not what it seems.
  3. A PF70 does not address manufacturing flaws. Some of the flawed ones being returned are manufacturing flaws but may still be graded PF70. Personally I won't pay a premium fo a PF70 with those kind of flaws.
  4. The unveling at the end was actually a perfect set of 2024 Master Engraver Pistrucci 2oz, 5oz and 10oz coins for them to take home🤣
  5. This is were all the good coins went, to the super rich Louis Tres sipping collectors club https://www.theguardian.com/news/2019/dec/01/billionaires-only-please-london-vault-for-the-ultra-rich-opens-its-doors
  6. I bet their quality control cherry picked the good ones for themselves and send out all the bad ones to customers. If they have good ones spare they may go out to a lucky customer like a lottery or a dealer of their choosing. They are a public sector employers, they use your taxes to hire people, It keeps people in the job to process returns and if bad coins are not returned they have gotten rid of a rotten apple.
  7. Its a Swann from the 70s, thick trays. I got many bad coins from the RM. Only about 1 in 10 are good.
  8. You mean my cabinet? 😀 It use to belong to Baldwin the dealer.
  9. I always thought it was acid. Sand blasting sounds very fragile but if that is the method I'm not suprise there are so many frosting flaws.
  10. Looks like its a "Trial of the Pyx" example got sent out by mistake😕
  11. Not trying to defend RM but even the "Hero" ones on there website are not perfect. St George's ribcage has a unexpected wound The letter "O" on the edge The question is would you return the coin if the above was present on yours? Other flaws might have been cleaned up before it goes up on their website but who knows?
  12. If Pistrucci was alive he will be terrorising the RM quality control.
  13. The borders or Dragon's teeth looks like someone use a tissue and did a wipe while spinning the coin were the frosting start to wear. If you look closely I don't think any are perfect, some are better than others and by a wide margin. Even mine I say its perfect only by looking objectively only because its free from immediate visual flaws because overall eye appeal its perfect without having to go forensic.
  14. This is the thing with American grading I'm not too fond about. Eye appeal, nice strike, full even frost, etc, should be taken into consideration.
  15. If I post it on here I get banned😉
  16. What do you guys do with your gold coins?
  17. I do IT and I told a user why we no longer support her PC because it is over 10 years old, its no longer in warranty and the spec no longer runs well with current Windows 10 operating system but she kept replying and said that she needed it working for her work, then she ask can I explain the 3rd email I sent her without explaining what it is and she kept asking for that 3rd email. I knew what she was doing, she think I was an AI bot and was trolling me. I emailed her that I'm coming to her office and went to her office and stood outside her door and she refuse to open the door.
  18. When you get a coin that size it becomes a novelty, a medallion, no longer a coin.
