2020 Una and the Lion

I agree. Buying raw from the Royal Mint is a fantastic investment. There are more denominations being released for the Graces in comparison to the Una. How will that effect future pricing, who knows. I do think a large part will come down to mintage.
To this day, there is still only 5 2oz gold Una’s graded by PCGS as PR70 Deep Cameo. They also VERY rarely hit the market. That will keep the price up for years to come and I wouldn’t be shocked if that coin one day hit £100k in the near future. There are some people who have crazy money out there and £100k is a drop in the ocean to them.

Great points, well said. Good luck tomorrow if you’re in the hunt for a Graces coin. I’m now out of the hunt having used most of my spare cash buying a couple of special half sovereigns from SilverMike in the past few days (1817 AU50 and 1826 PF60).

Thanks mate. I’m definitely going for it. Setting up my command center tonight so I’m good to go in the morning.

I’m also doing finger pushups today. Gotta keep them nimble!

It's not Una and the Lion, more like something from the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.

Technically, alcohol is a solution..

'It [socialism] poses a growing threat, however unintentional, to the freedom of this country, for there is no freedom where the State totally controls the economy. Personal freedom and economic freedom are indivisible. You can’t have one without the other. You can’t lose one without losing the other.'

Let not England forget her precedence of teaching nations how to live.

Lionel, ive been told there is a 2oz RM "Una & Lion" in Sovereign Rarities auction at the end of April. Will be great to see what it goes for, they have a great little black book of contacts around the world

Will be the first one ive seen up for sale in a while.  Last one i saw sold in far east auction for more than last coin cabinet auction of £59,000

More seriously, maybe this price is credible,  who knows ! The last reference we have is the last auction at the CC in september with a PF70 sold for £59000

I have also tracked for a few months a raw gold Una in Japan, the dealer (who sell a lot of UK coins) proposed it for Y14900000, so around £100000 and this coin is not available anymore (but I can't see if it was sold as it disappeared from the site)

Hello Paul ;)

It will be interesting to know if the trend is still there !

The 3G could be on the same trend (around £35000 for the moment)... My gold 3G will only be despatched tomorrow to a third party for grading (very cumbersome procedure with the RM in order to send it to a 3rd party)

So I won't have this beauty in hand for a few more months (but I have the silver 2oz in hand  :) )

Thanks Lionel for the insight, i saw a reference to one selling in the far east on a facebook collectors group in the past few month, it was from one of the most trusted members, so can presume it was 99% true/real

Sadly cant find it from searching as searching "Una & Lion" just brings up dozens of Three Graces posts on FB now so cant locate it to say exactly what was said.  But in my mind i know the price was more the the coincabinet auction sale we saw of £59,000 GBP last year

The fact that none at all have come to market since the £59,000 hammer price has got to be encouraging long term - the sale next month at sovereign rarities auction will definitely be a good one to watch.  If it is between £59,000  BCC list price of £85,000 and the 15 million YEN sale price - i really dont mind, im sure you dont either  ! :)

Hey Paul,

From what I remember, a member said that the gold Una sold more recently for £80k in a Far East auction.
Do you think it’ll break the £100k mark?

£85,000 and not graded?! I don’t think so... if it was a PF70, that would make a bit more sense.

I can’t believe I’ve just said a coin that was originally on sale for under £5k less than two years ago “makes sense” at £85k today 🤪
