22k of course!

Pre-2013 Brits and sovs, .900 coins are ok too 😄

There's no history with a 24k coin so these are purely for show, flipping or for sticking in tubes 😛

(IMO of course, buy what you like 👍)

Mostly 24K because I like taking a look at them. Occasionally some sovreigns on a budget.

Of course this was before losing everything in a boat accident.

I suspect there’s going to be a lot of boating accidents in this wind.

One has just landed in my back garden, the irony of it being called storm Dudley and I won a boat.

If I may take over the role of TSF Pedant (I imagine @LawrenceChard has gone to bed, bless), when we refer to gold's purity we use 'karat'. A karat is a measurement of 1/24th of a whole so 22k is 22/24 where 24k is pure gold.

The term 'carat' is reserved for the weight of a gemstone, for example a diamond or ruby.

😎

Very soon LC will wake up and explain that 22 k is actually 91.67 % gold and 8.33% copper/silver!

I like the colour of 24 carat gold coins.

An admirable, sensible, and commendable preference.

That's almost certainly because they are gold coloured.

I think the vast majority of the world's population, past and present, like the colour of gold. One reason for this is that is similar to the colour of the sun (but don't look too closely at the latter). The sun gives us light and warmth, so I think there is an instinctive, pre-historic, tribal part of our brains which cause us to be attracted by and to it.

Because 24 carat gold coins contain (almost) no other elements, nobody can mess about with its colour or spoil it.

I always preferred the Brits.  but after picking up a few Sovs and a Krug im starting to appreciate the more robust Bullion coinage

Actually, my answer to the question posed in the topic title:

Are you a 22 or 24 carat kind of Guy or Gal. or person or...

Is "Yes!"

😎

As I hope it is for all TSF members.

why all your toilet handles and sink taps are made of 24k gold like Saddam in Basra palace, King james the 23rd. With your gold leaf toilet paper and i know you sometime have to resort to your £50 notes
