Yes :) The 1kg Three Graces is the first denomination of this type in the series.

Yes but is it a coin or a brick? the 2kg is even worse, what next the 10kg ☹️

Sheer speculation imho. I think these coins will hold a decent value for the “first” series. Provided the royal mint don’t kick the asrse out of it with ever more weights/ metal types/ grading etc.

After the first series, if they ever end this, I see prices falling off a Cliff. If they keep going in perpetuity with additional series, which is also a dumb possibility, then likewise I see prices nose diving. The mint need to keep serious collectors sweet, something I’m not sure they are capable of. I think they will take the short term view unfortunately.
Incidentally, I am more a stacker at heart and think collectors deserve more of a chance. The mint really need to offer small time collectors a fair crack of the whip. I think I have said before, but with today’s technology and the sums being asked for at retail. The mint could laser sime sort of code to each coin and impose some sort of forfeit to ongoing sakes if a coin is sold on within say 5 years of purchase. There must be some way of managing this.

Its weird as if they were all pf70 then one is no more special than the other and never will be then its just down to mintage figures

Nobody would ever break out of the slab and in 100 years there will still be 3510 pf70 coins

Is a pf69 so bad that there is no interest 😕

I don't mind that grade as it means it was close to perfect and some could be bumped up with conservation

A pf69 that was on eBay for just under 1900 didn't sell so that may be an indication that a pf69 is gonna be around raw grade or less price.

Can someone explain why a pf69 is worth less than a raw coin? The seller didn't say if it comes with original packaging and coa.

What percentage of raw coins would typically expected to be a 70?

IMHO you know its not a 70 grade coin, and most of these would have NCS already im sure but with a raw coin you could take the gamble and get a 70. I dont think there is going to be as much an uplift with these compared to the unas especially with all the 70 grade coins coming out of NGC atm. I wouldn't be surprised if these are selling for sub 1500 in a couple of months.

1500 for a 255 coin. Still!

I would still like to achieve 2k for my yet ungraded coin, but 1500 is a massive win

Fully agree with both statements to be fair doubling your money is impressive in todays market

I think if the price does drop/settle it will weed out some of the flippers as they are killing the collecting market

I heard a horror story of someone holding a 5oz coin no gloves then trying to sell it

The 10 oz Three Graces was a last minute consignment and I was keen to test the market with this coin as the lowest price I have seen it advertised is £11k. Apparently one has been sold at £12k through fleabay but we can't always be certain this is a genuine sale as I have a strong belief there are some trying to manipulate the market. The biggest shock for me was the James Bond coins in our auction. I am convinced these coins are over- priced and feel many are going to 'catch a cold' with them.

We will speak to the consigner and see what they want to do. In our March Auction we had both the 2oz and 5oz Silvers and we started relatively low and now I think looking back they achieved good money, as some of the 2oz are now selling under £1700 on ebay. Unfortunately with the nature of flipping, it's extremely difficult to convince consigners to take this start low approach though I do feel it is the best way to achieve the best price.

Having looked at NGC grading on the 2oz Three Graces there are currently over 600 grading at PF70 UC.

NGC graders do not wear gloves whilst grading coins

Really but the wouldnt be touching the face of the coin

Possibly too much hype into the coin has sent the lot to be graded

As another member  pointed out RM will clock this and just grade the lot job done they will get all the profit  upfront

I think the 5oz are a different ball game altogether - there are a lot less of them.
