  1. Hi Andy, If you would like any information about our online Auctions please reach out (no obligation). We work on 10 % commission on the hammer price everything else is yours! https://bidlive.coinsoftherealm-auctions.com Best regards Louise 0800 169 1066 PS It may be worth grading some of the collection and then selling through auction - which is something I am happy to discuss with you as we offer grading at cost if selling through auction.
  2. @refero Hi Alberto - We do start most Lots lower than the reserve now, there have been some occasions when we have started Lots at the reserve but like most young auctions we have tested different methods to see what works best for our auction. In an ideal world we would start every Lot low and let them run, but for obvious reasons that cannot happen all the time. Sometimes, it does and I love to watch the bidding then. I wish more people would take a gamble and try this as it can achieve much greater results. We are also aware how frustrating it can be to bid on a lot, be the highest bidder and lose to the reserve. Hence why sometimes we start nearer the reserve. I do assure you it's not as simple as people think it is keeping everyone happy. I am sorry to hear that the mix up of the Lots puts you off as I get many customers telling me they prefer it this way. The advantage of mixing the lots is exactly opposite to what you have said -exposure. More people view coins they might not if they were in perfect order. Many tell me that it's more interesting to watch too, and another reason we do it like that is because every month we get last minute consignments. So if we organised it as you suggest (like every other auction) we would not be able to accept last minute consignments. Also, in this case duplications they could not be accepted as this would compromise the coin next to it. So mixing up means we can separate those duplicates. If you view the auction at the beginning and we have 120 lots - often that can end up being 160 lots by the end of the auction. Again, in an ideal world people would consign months in advance. Unfortunately, most do not. This auction is NOT supported by our own stock. The auction is mostly consigners, supported by a few dealers. If you are looking for a specific denomination e.g. Sovereigns -you can use the search bar to do this. I have come to realise you can't please everyone all of the time- I hope one day you might change your mind and give us another try. Best regards Louise
  3. @Shinus73 Running this monthly auction and finding those customers who are willing to put their coins up without some type of reserve is extremely difficult. We do get collections submitted where we are given the reigns to sell and list at the prices we believe are fair, but as you can appreciate it's not easy to provide that month in month out. We really do appreciate everyone who takes the time to look and bid though and we will keep striving to get the bargains in there. 😜👍 Hopefully you'll see more of these as we grow.
  4. @Shinus73 I understand what you are saying and I do agree on occasions, however if you take an example of the last auction Lot 12 (which was the first sovereign not sold) - this lot started at £400 -1852 Shield Back Victoria Sovereign reserve was £470. I have just done a search online and cannot find a single sovereign of this year under £515 advertised that is in stock. Prices will always be varied. I agree sometimes they are too high, and some times very reasonably priced. The coin didn't sell, but what I've come to realise is just because something doesn't sell - it doesn't mean the price is too high. The same coin could easily sell for £550 in another auction. We have had this happen on so many occasions. The reserve has been lowered and then it sold for much higher than the initial reserve. It just depends on the audience on that day, the image and a number of other factors including gold price on the day, and outside events which are not always in our control. We can start every Lot at £1.00 but if the reserves is £500 and the highest bid is £300 it won't sell. If there are any customers on here that would like to submit their coins at 10% below the gold price or even at spot, and let them run without reserve we are very interested in hearing from you. Please do get in touch. 0800 169 1066
  5. @NGMD Thank you for taking the time to set up a discussion area for our auction. Just to reiterate we do not share any bidding information and whilst we cannot control if customers want to discuss bidding we suspect most will not want to make this public knowledge. With regards to the running of the auction, we have strived to create a transparent platform for customers to sell and buy. As far as I am aware we are now the only auction to offer - 0% Buyers Premium, A Free phone number to contact us on and reserves for our consigners. Our 10% commission (which is lower if you are a TSF member) is one of the lowest in the industry. We intend to continue to offer this great service with the help and support of our customers. We do our upmost to start coins as low as possible, and a good indication of the reserve can be usually be found on the low estimate. When a coin is bid at the start price and doesn't meet reserve the item will not sell, however often reserves are lowered during the pre-bidding stage so we actively encourage pre bidding as the reserve CAN be altered during the auction. It will never be higher, but it can be lowered if the consigner agrees. Unlike most auctions we are 90% about consignments - meaning we do not buy the stock and auction it off ourselves. Being a fairly new auction we rely on the consignments from the general public which can be challenging managing expectations. We have other challengers also including the moving gold price and the moving market. Of course we want every lot to sell, but this is not typical of most auctions especially one which is still building it's audience. Recently the Royal Mint had an auction where just 40'odd Lots sold out of 182, https://auction.royalmint.com/auctions/catalog/id/38?page=2 - They obviously charge buyers premium, but still The Royal Mint - the most well known producer of coinage struggled. I like to take the positives about what we have created and push forward this idea of 0% buyers premium auctions. It makes the process so much simpler for the customer and we are looking in ways to keep this going. The best thing TSF members can do is support us - because if we don't get the support of the general public then everyone is back to paying 6%, 18%, 22% and above...if you enjoy buying your coins in this way. Thank you everyone for your interest and we hope you will continue to support our family run Auction. Regards Louise Moreland admin@coinsoftherealm.org 0800 169 1066
  6. For anyone wishing to be on the Buy it now mailing list please just call or email cotr.louise@gmail.com and I'll add you. I have noticed some of the emails bounced (I think about 11) so it could be the case they didn't reach some of the customers. I did send it in the evening so I am not sure if this had an impact.
  7. @NGMD I just looked for you on the platform and I think you signed up to last months auction, however the email addresses from the last auction have not yet been forwarded to our mailing list so you should receive the Buy it now list next time 👍but if not please do let me know. Incidentally I don't think you are signed up for Auction 42. Let me know if you would like to be. Best regards Louise
  8. @modofantasma Yeah for some reason the admin@coinsofthrealm.org email address is temperamental so feel free to use the cotr.louise@gmail.com if the other bounces back - both go to the same place. Best regards Louise
  9. Very Sorry for my late reply: No need to be an existing COTR customer! If anyone wants to be added to our mailing list please just email admin@coinsoftheealm.org or cotr.louise@gmail.com and we can add you. Buy it now lists will be produced monthly. Thank you for looking!
  10. @REILsilver Hello - and thank you @arphethean for the add. We are authorised dealers of NGC & you can find all your information about our service here on the forum or via our website at : www.coinsoftherealm.com - under grading. Any questions just call our handy free phone number on 0800 169 1066. We are also listed on the NGC website under Harlow, Essex. I think you'll find us competitive. Kind regards Louise Ps LOL don't ask me why that authorised label has become so BBBBIG!!
  11. @Darr3nG - If I were you I would send this to grade and do conservation. This coin could still get a 70 as the black blemishes are definitely something to do with the strike. I am certain. There doesn't seem to be any scratches on the coin. I would not send this back, they might just refund you - I'd definitely buy it for £850 😜
  12. £2950 + £10 Special Delivery 0800 169 1066 (for sale on other platforms)
  13. I don't like the look of that frosting on the obverse looks a bit off 🤔
  14. @Midasfrog Let us know once it arrives, the supplier messaged me this morning to say last week in Jan / start of Feb but I am getting my invoices done now as I know they tend to arrive quicker than they usually say. Obviously they don't like to be hassled for a delivery date so over compensate to give themselves breathing space. Your the only person I've heard receiving it. Please keep us updated. 😜👍
  15. @GoldDiggerDave Well aren't you a bundle of optimism! lol! Well.... yes this can happen in any industry. We use the biggest distributers in the U.K and have done for over 20 years without issue but thank you for the confidence- Tell me how long have you been registered as a business in coins and taking peoples money?
  16. @GoldDiggerDave It's a shame they have started to do this with the orders at the Royal Mint but you have to remember that they are not dealing with just a few customers. We run only a small company who happen to sell these and our bill alone is over £125,000 this is a lot of money changing hands. This also stops people buying just for a quick flip if you think about it, as they are forced to pay and wait rather than selling on and making huge profits and leaving the poor collectors who were not able to buy at the release price complaining at having to spend 2 x or 3 x the release price to indulge in their collecting habit. I think the Royal Mint are under a lot of pressure to be reigning down on flippers after the Platinum Jubilee Issues and the Great Engravers etc maybe this might be their solution. Who knows if it will work? Only time will tell. I kinda feel they are dammed if they do, and dammed if they don't. (I know this feeling lol) I don't think the price of gold really matters with these issues as they are already way over gold and the Royal Mint would have purchased the gold way in advance. I've only purchased directly from them a few times as we tend to go to the distributers. I know The Royal Mint get a lot wrong but it's hard to fault this design I love it! I really can't wait to see them! We have taken most payments now, and don't usually- but the timing of the release, the increased demand and volume and not knowing how soon they will be issued instigated us to take payments in preparation. I heard the Sets might be first, but don't hold me to it I have only emailed the distributer tonight so nothing confirmed. Right, back to work much to do...happy moaning guys! 😆
  17. @Solachesis We haven't had details of a delivery date yet (hopefully will be soon or at least a rough idea of date). We will keep everyone in the loop - the minute we know you'll know 😊
  18. @jultorsk These were put into auction to give customers another chance to buy them if they had missed out purchasing from the Royal Mint or other retailers. We often add new releases to auction to add interest and for this reason. I disagree with those who think this issue will be a flop. On the contrary! We sold out of our initial allocation and had to preorder more from other suppliers to offer them to new and regular customers. The Royal mint reduced virtually all allocations to wholesale. Which I believe left them with a larger stock base than they previously had on other releases. (Probably from complaints about flipping). I think those who cancelled or decided to wait to purchase these coins will live to regret this decision. In our experience most changes of design are better purchased at the time of release as they rarely reduce in price and mostly increase. Whilst this Memorial Issue wasn't the anticipated Coronation issue most of us expected, I think in time will prove to be a extremely popular desirable design. Afterall, it is still THE FIRST SOVEREIGN BEARING THE NEW KING CHARLES III PORTRAIT. Anyone who missed the auction or the 31st December cut-off time do get in touch we have kept a few items available and will still honor the release price on some of these releases. 0800 169 1066
  19. I may have the mintage wrong - I'll try and confirm this next week
  20. I know it's frustrating to some people that trade get some prior allocation - but it's good that small companies get some allocation rather than just the big companies, - and in the past I have given part of my trade discount to many. The allocation I have is small, but I do intend to sell these to customers not trade.
  21. @GoldDiggerDave Neither of these issues are out. The Royal Mint have delayed the release. Most dealers get an allocation of new issues or commemoratives (we get a trade discount) within the trade. Though tbh I only normally get the Proof issues. This is the first time I have allocation of these. I think it will be the Matte finish on the BU £5's, but I also do not have all the details for full confirmation. The prices I have given are Release Price
