From Arshi, the 2nd in the Kookaburra Evolution Companion Series and is the 2002 Evolution of Time.  5 coin series starting 2001 with Calendar, Time, Knowledge, Numbers and Alphabet.  Originally proof antiqued coins with box & COA with mintage of 15k ish but this is just coin only.  Shame there's a crack in the capsule.  Will replace it one day.  No idea why there's mention of Kookaburra.

I forget how good a 10oz coin feels in hand.

I would grade it as about Fine. The obverse is aF and the reverse gF

i like it but don't think it worth grading (too scared to do so lol)

It is AU55 so a very reasonable if not exceptional grade

1oz Gold 1988 South Korean Seoul Olympics - 1986 Turtle Boat Proof coin.  Came with box and COA.  They issued coins from 1986 onward for the olympics.  Only 92.5% fine so has a gross weight of 33.626g and 35mm in diameter.

Yeah the pictures don't do it justice but it's probably been cleaned at some point.

Still a nice sov though, and as a Sydney sov 1877 is only one of 4 years where Sydney was the only Mint putting out the shield backs (1875, 1877-1879). Not that I have that sort of nerdy info in my brain on a routine basis ?, but because I also bought an 1877 S shieldback a few months ago, and looked it up! Snap.

Not posted any new arrivals for some time, just don't have time to photograph stuff at the moment!

However, a I have a couple of interesting shields that people may be able to comment on.

1872 Full - Melbourne mint, R according to marsh, seems in pretty good condition so happy with this pickup at 270

 

1872 Half - "Nose to T", but with a die number? "86". Marsh's says that only the branch mints have versions of this coin, so wondering if there are other examples?

 

 

1875 Half - Noticed the Die number is unrecorded in Marsh "305", who will keep records of new discovered dies going forward?
