Seems I may have got lucky with mine. Capsule in place and closed with no damage that I can see to the frosting or polished fields. Think the small specs on the pictures appear to be dust particles.
I’m so sorry to see all the disappointed people who have once again been let down by the RM quality control.
Upon further inspection it looks like there is a tiny bit of frosting missing from the crown on the Gothic Portrait side. Not going to bother returning it for that though.

Today I received a 1.33g hand panned Gold Scottish Nugget from @arphethean and his new brand ‘Haven Precious Metals”.
What a fabulous looking piece, something truly different to add to the collection. Really nicely presented as well.
Go check out his sales thread for some stunning pieces, as my pictures just don’t do it justice.

I can buy a very small amount of Platinum.
is it worth it or is it too volatile in comparison to silver or Gold.
would we be likely to lose money?Honestly I don't think it hurts to have a small amount of platinum. It certainly helps to diversify your portfolio and plus it's nice to look at. I myself only have two 1/10oz Platinum Britannia's.
It's hard to say with platinum where it will head in long term, but as @sovereignsteve said, it's being used in a lot of industrial processes and I can't see demand for it going away. Take catalytic converters for example. Likelyhood is that these will be phased out more and more as electrical vehicles become the norm, but who knows what revolutionary technology will come along that uses it i.e. high capacity batteries etc.
I personally will be picking up a small fracitonal amount every now and then.

I much later had found out here, that I had in fact paid multiple times RRP. (Not Ebay multiples, I might add)
I think buying such a high value item from a third party without researching the respective RRP was the mistake here. Not saying what the dealer did was right, but at the end of the day it's the buyer who decides if an item is worth based on the price it's on sale for.

Seeing as a few graded ASE’s have been shared today, I picked up my first and only graded coin last year when the ASE type 2 was first released.
This was back in June 2021 when I first started to get into this hobby and hadn't yet joined TSF, so I never got around to sharing.I have no idea if it was a good purchase or if it will hold its value / go up in value. Just thought that as it was the first year of a new design it may have been a worthwhile purchase.

Great news! Sorry to say once I have both I’ll be selling as a set. I’m not convinced this one is worth holding for the long term.
While I also am uncertain of the longevity of this set in terms of profit, I will be holding my set as I really like the design of these coins. I think for myself as primarily a collector, it's important to not forget about why I enjoy buying these coins in the first place.
However, it does all depends on your rationale behind stacking / collecting. So completely understand your point too.- Chrisplym, matt1r, Spanishsilver and 2 others

The Royal Mint have sent out pictures of the obverse of this Sundays one off SOTD 50p visitor centre exclusive, another variation for all you completionists out there 😀
By the sounds of it not too dissimilar to the Queen on horse back we have on the current Jubilee 50p but the horse is in a different position.
Hmmm... I live 30 minutes from the mint. Someone want to pay me to make a pilgramige to get a SOTD coin struck at the royal mint experiance? 🤣

Time to drag the Royal Mint's business model in to this century?

Surely the 'Nothing' is countered by the 'I have not' meaning it is something you have done?
