Wallstreetbets eye up SLV

Just looked at first two pages on WSB for silver mentions. Here's the only two threads I saw:

https://old.reddit.com/r/wallstreetbets/comments/l9gv98/citadel_is_the_5th_largest_owner_of_slv_its/

https://old.reddit.com/r/wallstreetbets/comments/l9runf/the_silver_squeeze_is_a_hedgefund_coordinated/

Don't think this is going to have the same interest until GME has played out.

For sure. As I mentioned earlier, no way a gaggle of individuals will beat Wall Street long term. If you get a win, take it and run before you get crushed.

My opinion exactly. I said early last week by intention was to get in and out quickly with a bit of profit. Sadly I ended with a little loss as I got out as soon as I saw robinhood and 212 do the dirty.

I'm now keeping out of it all, apart from anything happening with anything I currently own.

I see you've been busy on the freetrade forum 😏

Haha yes. My second favourite place to hang out after the Silver Forum. Always good to diversify your portfolio from precious metals

But what else is this than another manipulation? Definitely not normal and healthy market development.

I agree, I would have preferred a more stable grow during next months caused by all the printing in course.

But maybe this "distributed manipulation" (aka bubble) can break the farce of paper silver and accelerate what would had been a natural movement.

If we get new members joining to sell in the trade section remember to keep your head.

Set any hype aside as you dont want to end up with fakes or other scams.

Have you seen an influx of new members over this weekend ?

The SLV pre-market is hovering around $27.30/oz right now. I would have expected this to be higher all things considered.

Is silver market manipulated and heavily shorted and how does these issues compare to gold?

What is the marketcap of physical silver and the marketcap of iou paper derivative silver?

Can wallstreetbets really take silver to the moon like they did with game and if so can robinhood or trading212 stop buying of it?

Finally physical silver bullion dealers, are dealers obliged to sell real physical silver at whatever price wallstreetbets manage to pump up to and are they obliged to buy back physical silver at these high pumped prices or will they wait out this wallstreetbets frenzy is over then buy back?

Silver is a giant market compared to a stock.

It is manipulated to a degree, yes.

It cannot be manipulated by a group of individuals.

They will not take it to the moon, I can all but guarantee that.

Dealers are businesses, they are not obliged to buy or sell at any price at any time. They work by buying at a certain price and selling it very quickly afterwards.

Dealers have and will increase premiums on their silver to compensate for small movements in markets. Buying from Joe Public at spot and then charging 20% over spot for sales.
