  1. Spanish 5 pesetas, 1871 with knife, file and scissors, 1875 with cigarette lighter.
  2. Looks like we have a winner, congrats @SneakerFreaker
  3. Sorry @stefffana, I knew I should have got you to proof read it before posting it... And you can't call the cops, you havent bought the bar yet 🙃
  4. Ever been in a sticky situation and not known who to call? Well here is the solution, the MOX100, a 100g fine silver bar that will get you help in any emergency, bar number 999. Made from recycled .999 silver, hallmarked in Birmingham with a CoA and stamped with the Mox Metals makers mark (I is professional you know), all you need to do is have this bar in your pocket at all times and when disaster strikes phone the number on the back of the bar (not including the first 2 digits obviously...). Auction starts at £1, bidding in whole pounds only please, no messing about with the pennies cos I can't be arsed with it and you will be excluded from participating and, if I can convince him that it has caused me excessive mental harm on a night when I will already have to cope with fighting my way to the bar through vomit, spilt drinks and drunk people who only come out once a year and can't handle their booze, I will be pushing for the maximum penalty, maybe even 5 minutes exile from TSF... (NBS dwellers, you have been warned). As a bonus this includes FREE 1st Class Signed For postage and will be posted as soon as those nice chaps at Royal Mail get there or I can delay posting until they are a bit more steady on their feet after getting shitfaced all weekend. Auction ends at midnight on 31st December 2023, its ok, I know you guys have nothing better to do on New Years Eve. Good luck with the bidding everyone whether you are male, female or have decided you want people to pretend you are a cat/tea spoon/garden gnome etc. There will be no discrimination in my sales threads but I might laugh at you. (PS. The kitten and puppy are not part of the winnings, pets are not just for Christmas (or New Year) or to be used to flog lumps of shiny metal but @James32 told me you lot would fall for a cute pic and bid a lot higher). (PPS. Got a bit carried away with the highlighting...)
  5. I have been keeping an eye on this since rumours started circulating. I believe 30 countries in total have signed up to the BRICS lead gold backed currency The dollar has had its day as the world reserve currency. Central banks (mainly those in the "Global South") have been boosting their gold reserves for several months but having read opinions from various sources I think possibility of a launch of a new gold backed currency next week is taking things too far, more likely they will announce plans for its introduction at a later date. We will see. Also of interest is the recent deal between India and the UAE for a million barrels of oil, with payment being made in rupee's, not the first country to have done deals with oil producers in the Middle East. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed in July for a new system allowing trade between the two countries using the rupee and dirham. With the USA increasingly weaponizing financial sanctions and the freezing of bank accounts to punish countries/people they don't like the rest of the world (apart from the West) have taken note and are looking for ways around it. Due to the world using the dollar they also receive any financial problems occurring in the US, due to the massive dollar printing over the past couple of years inflation has also spread worldwide. And on inflation, how the f*ck could the Fed say inflation was going to be transitory given all the money printing that has gone on (USD M2 $14T in 2019 rising to $21T now, 20% of all the dollars ever created were issued in 2020...). The interaction/dependence of economics across the world at various levels is fascinating and I would suggest everyone reads more about it, big changes are coming, it all follows a cycle, reserve currencies never survive, currencies never survive, only gold and silver have survived for several thousand years and they will outlast anything put in place that isn't backed by anything physical. Hopefully a new gold backed currency will allow for real price discovery for precious metals rather than the fix that goes on at the moment, if gold jumps I wouldn't like to be someone holding paper gold, try and redeem your paper for gold that has been sold multiple times over, I'm quite looking forward to the financial chaos, you don't need Fight Club to rebalance the world, just greedy psychopaths who are playing the real version of Risk looking for world domination. Other factors include China's Belt and Road initiative, the West losing its presence in Africa, fragile supply chains due to globalisation, the ridiculous Climate Change con (I have a degree in Environmental Studies, number one concern should be the use of plastics and forever chemicals), the focus on gender with the rise of the snowflake generation (making the West look weak and we are seeing the recruitment into the armed forces drop, might we see compulsory military service introduced again?) and the lack of statesmen in western politics (watch the way Sergei Lavrov destroys arguments made by the west (or Mohammad Zarif did for Iran until he was replaced a couple of years ago), if you look at it from a neutral standpoint it is no wonder the rest of the world doesn't trust the West. I am starting to ramble but there is much more to this jigsaw which will reshape global relationships over the next few years and things will get bumpy, when a nation starts to lose global hegemony it tends to lash out and the purveyors of global death and destruction started to flex their muscles against the big players under the Biden administration. Sorry if this is a bit disjointed but there is lots to consider.
  6. I would post some stuff but I accidentally deleted all the photos I spent taking at the weekend...
  7. A shame there are a few small dents and scratches, WI Broadway & Co, Birmingham 1953/54
  8. Wasn't sure where to put these. T Heatley, Birmingham 1908
  9. It can get expensive! Would this work and which of the four options would be best to buy? https://www.amazon.co.uk/Anwenk-Balance-Exposure-Photography-Calibration/dp/B074W1VF2Y/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?keywords=grey%2Bcard%2Bphotography&sr=8-1-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGY&th=1
  10. I have a space that is 24" wide by 20" deep (shut it @HerefordBullyun, I know what you are thinking) and would like to create a photo booth that will give me more room to take pics than the portable LED lit one that I currently use. What is the best way to go about it in terms of lighting, material to use, coating for non-reflection. What is the best way to set it up? I was thinking of the LED strip lights you can buy. Would this work and how much lighting would i need and at what position? Is more better? Would lighting from in front make the reflection off a proof better or worse? And anything else that could make a difference on this topic...
  11. What is the affect of different coloured backgrounds on how gold and silver appear in photos? Sometimes a coin/bar looks great, sometimes it looks sh*t. What are colours to avoid? Does where a colour is on the spectrum define its affect on the subject matter? Is it graded from white through to black on its level of impact? And any other things that might help with this topic...
  12. I was wondering if anyone could give me some info on the settings that affect the way that, for example, the background appears, such as a coin/bar in focus and the background blurred? And any other things that I can do to change the way parts of the picture appear?
  13. A wedding present for a good friend of mine. Rios Precious Metals used 100g of my recycled fine silver and came up with this, my friend and her husband love it. At the moment it is unique but we are looking at maybe starting a new product, depends on what price it would have to be set at.
  14. A selection of photos from the new batch from the Mox Metals/Rios Precious Metals collaboration (on sale at moxmetals.co.uk, not many left, £99 each plus £4 flat postage rate):
  15. 2014 Andorra 4x 1oz .999 Silver Atlas of Wildlife – Europe £350 incl SD postage (I have also put this set up for sale on other platforms) This set is quite stunningly presented with the fake book box, map, CoA's and CoA holder and original outer box, all in pristine condition. This set was rocking horse terrible, impossible to find anywhere, I hadn't seen any for sale until two sets appeared on eBay recently, I guess once they are gone it will be very hard to find a set. There were a maximum of 1,000 of these sets produced, I have seen some of the coins sold individually so some have been split. The intended large collection started, and finished, with the set featuring European animals when the initial aim was to produce six sets featuring animals from across the world - Europe, North America, South America, Australia, Africa and Asia - with antique finish, superb quality minting and a stylized book-shaped box Presented in a luxury box, the “Atlas of Wildlife: Europe” consists of four coins in total – Wild Boar, Perch, Pond Turtle and Wood Grouse SPECIFICATIONS: Denomination: 10 diners (4 coins) Country: Andorra Metal: Silver (Ag) .999 Weight: 1 oz Size: 38.61 mm Finish: Antique Finish Mintage: 1,000 Date of issue: 2014
  16. 2014 Andorra Atlas of Wildlife 1oz silver. Supposed to be the first set of a series, this was the only set produced with a mintage of 1,000. Original packaging, certs, map etc. (Warning for those who may get triggered, this post contains pictures of a turtles head....). Probably going to retake three of the individual coin pics
  17. @Panda6Pack I will check my certs to see if i have any extras, remind me to have a look for them if i dont get back to you by tomorrow eve
  18. The new and improved hallmarking for Mox Metals bars:
  19. 2016/17 2oz .999 Cook Islands $2 Gods of Olympus by Perth Mint full set. Four in each box in drawer box with CoA's etc. Sorry about the pics, rushed as I needed them fast.
