I didn’t know the Perth Mint made Kookaburra Plaques, but I’m sure glad they did!😂
Even nicer to discover they look like 1993 Eagle Privy Proof 2oz and 10oz stunners! Absolutely amazing condition coins...looks like I’m going to have to keep them now and send to NGC for grading. Mintage 500 each.
The biggest THANK YOU I can give goes to @CoinStruck for organising all of this, top gent.

There is one of these beauties in MS-64 for sale on MA-Shops...https://www.ma-shops.com/worldmoneyshop/item.php?id=592
Hi. Fortunately for me, the one above at ma-shops is the standard one, which I already have. The coin @augur is referring to is the same year, 1926, but has an additional engravers mark (fasces). There are only believed to be 10 in existence so do not come cheep. One sold many years ago for ‘a lot’ of money!..see below
I am hoping my good friend @augurbought this, and will be wrapping it up, and sending it to Yorkshire around Christmas time😃!

Playful this evening I see @augur..
You are no longer the high bidder😂. -

I believe @SilverTanner has tucked away some real rarities... The 1926 Albania 20 Franga Skanderbegu Fasces Privy is pretty rare after 90% got molten down with 10 surviving examples.
Since you have the other two, you kind of need to complete now the trinity 😜
You are so asking for trouble @augur!😂. If you wind me up any more on this Skanderbegu, I may start bidding on a particular 1912 coin currently up for sale on EBay!!...you know the one I mean!😂😂😂👍

What a lovely example of the Swiss 20 Franc coin!
There's something about this particular coin that I just absolutely love
Me too....I so nearly started to collect these Vrenelis a year or so ago. I decided to collect the French Fr.20 Francs Genies (angels) instead. But...I can’t remember why. I’m not sure one or two of the Swiss Vrenelis are really really rare, and would’ve been expensive to obtain..that would have put me off as when I go for a date run...I have to complete it! OCD I know☹️!
-
Just curious...can anyone enlighten me as to what are the real rarities on the 20 Francs front...I also have about sixty 20 Francs LMU coins, but all bar one are huge mintages, and not particularly hard to find. I have never spent any time looking to find out which ones are the rarest...if anyone can suggest a few, I don’t mind trying to track them down as and when time allows...don’t worry...I can’t afford to buy them at the moment...just look ☹️!

I appreciate all the great information you guys have been offering. I believe I've snagged all th 1oz. privy marked Kooks and Koala's except two, if my information is correct. Missing a 2012 Koala (Berlin Bear) and that Kookaburra F15 thingy. What exactly is it, a Privy Mark or special packaging, etc. I can find no details etc.
I think I know a man who knows all about F15 Privy coins, he might also tell me where he has got this years from with a bit of luck @Alun

really, the privy ones are more expensive? how things must have changed.
when i was really looking for kooks around 4 -5 years ago, I made a decision not to bother with the privies as i think they are naff as a general rule, but they were much more readily available and at lower prices.
I can assure you, the Privy coins are currently more expensive than the normal issue kooks.
I have a spreadsheet which lists all of the 1oz Privy coins which have been minted since 1992 (117), I own most of them, and have bought carefully from all over the world over the last 4 years. My average price paid per coin is over £35 each, but this does include the F15 versions as well, which are becoming stupidly expensive for what they are...now they are becoming ‘naff’.
Some of the rarities 1992 and 1993 Eagles will set you back over £100 and £200 each respectively, and there are at least another dozen or so that will be hard to source for less than £40;each.
As to them being ‘naff’ that’s your opinion, and I can think of a few that I would describe in a similar way. However, compared to the carp the Royal mint are pumping out on a regular basis these days, I think the quality of most of the Perth Mint coins compares favourably.

What's the difference between Privy KOOKS and normal kooks apart from the little animal stamp?
it's probably a silly question but I don't know the answer and I have always wondered.
The price!
Mintages are much lower.
Thats about it I reckon...some celebrate places or events as well.

@BSquared Collect the Privy KOOKS at your peril...I do, and it has cost me a small fortune (but it’s also been a pleasure). Having said that, to get them all we are talking less than £5k GBP, so not too bad financially compared to other coins!
Information on them is also hard to come by.
Do I regret collecting them...No
Welcome to the Dark Side!
PS I started by collecting the 1oz BU coins from 1990, but that was too easy...I then went after the Privy coins. If you have any specific questions on these, the forum is a great place to obtain information..just ask!

The rarest of the rare! Having collected 1oz Privy Kookaburras for 4 years, I have at last, got my hands on the ‘Holy Grail’.....
In 1993, The Perth Mint issued an American Eagle Edition, consisting of a 1oz, 2oz and 10oz Proof Eagle Privy coin. Mintage only 500.!
Unfortunately for me, I have had to buy the complete set just to obtain the 1oz coin for my collection.
At this point I would like to note, I have only received the 1oz coin, the rest are to follow in a few weeks time.
HUGE thank you here to a fellow forum member @CoinStruckwho has very kindly sourced these for me, and arranged safe delivery to me here in the UK..a top drawer member.
He also featured this set in a YouTube video, so if anyone is interested in Proof Kookaburras here it is..https://youtu.be/1oXkAlLZhJU
If you are interested in buying the extremely rare 2oz and 10oz Privy Proofs (Which I do not need when they arrive) watch out for them in the For Sale Thread...if I decide to part with them!

A puzzle maybe solved..the 20 Franga Skanderbegus.
I was wondering why the 1926 was minted in Rome, and the 1927 in Vienna..this has proven to be a tricky question!
After some research...this is the best I could come up with..If you know different..please tell!😃‘While Benito Mussolini provided nearly all of the financing for Albania during the rule of Amet Zog, there was always the insistence on Zog's part to play nominal allies off one another, hence the striking of some Albanian coinage (such as this coin) in Vienna.’

Having acquired a 1926 Skanderbegu earlier this year from Greece, I just had to get the ‘other one’, a 1927!
This one came from Goldbergs auction,Palm Beach..
Big thanks to @augurfor yet again finding ingenious ways to spend my money😂!
Although Albanian, these coins were minted in Italy, 1926 R Rome, and 1927 V Vienna (Austria).

Got a ‘hunch’ the POG might be heading south.....As soon as there is an end to this Brexit shambles, I can see it tanking down a quick $60 to $80USD.The markets will go RISK ON big time. Plus Trump will undoubtedly announce some sort of settlement with the Chinese any time soon..he has been too quiet on this front lately.
The commercial Banks are still short c300,000 contracts, and they rarely end up on the wrong side of a trade..
When you put all this together (for me anyways) it’s time to jump ship,
For this reason, my trading account is now 80% cash, and I will sit on the fence and observe what happens..always better to buy back in at a higher price than to watch paper profits disappear.
...Just the musings of an amateur trader...other opinions more than welcomed.

Just wondering ...How many people who follow this gold monitoring thread, actually trade on the price of gold to earn / lose money? I.e. HAVE SKIN IN THE GAME..not just opinion!
I trade gold ETF’s as a swing trader, as opposed to day, and have had a very ‘interesting’ quarter (+66%)...I use technicals, Elliot wave (sometimes), RSI, MACD, FIBS, BOLS etc ....but primarily am driven by fundamentals and sentiment...I find people I trust (Greg Mannarino, Eric Sprott, Hantec Markets) and act accordingly. Just curious, as I am always open to ideas that work / make me money. Who do you use that helps...?

The jigsaw 🧩 is so nearly complete...just posted this on ‘Today I Received’..but that doesn’t tell the whole story,
Just completed a date run of these 20 Francs coins...but the collection is not complete...
I have both 1879’s (Anchor and Barred Anchor) but I am missing an 1896 ‘Torch’ engravers mark (not axe).
If anyone sees one for sale or has one to sell let me know ! (Already aware of one at Gadoury)
