UK prices will be a bit higher - I'm sure there will be people bringing these in illegally, but if going through legal channels (including myself), they'll have a moderate premium. The back is a memorial to  QEII so that will add to the collectability this year.

Yes the standard 23 Australian memorial obverse but it looks nice on the rectangle form. It’s always legal if the tax is paid!

....IF the tax is paid, lol. Big IF ... people don't declare what's in the package and take a gamble if they get caught - All my precious metal is legally declared and I'm more interested in ethics and morals than a few quid saved. But that's a different story, lol.

Well, there does not seem to be much excitement about The Police release.  Having looked at the design I can see why.  It looks as if the RM design team totally gave up on this issue.

I don't know what they're thinking at the moment. It was only recent for the Shirley Bassey coins and now they have another in the Music Legends series, when the series in general is one of the least popular.

The design team is one aspect. Let’s not forget the RM advisory committee who are supposed to be the ones eliciting designs, suggesting changes, and approving the final design.

They must’ve been going for something different with this design, but besides the text itself, it doesn’t really say “The Police” visually. 🤷🏻‍♂️ 

Thankfully I never got into this series.

(I’m a fan of Sting though. Desert Rain was my teen spice lol.)
