    Hi,

Thanks, the trader has offered £1025 for the 3 coins. Moving to Oz in a few days so need the cash quickly, best just go with the trader. Thanks for the offer thou,

    Cheers

That's fine mate, good luck with the move I hope it all goes smoothly

  2. I would buy the shield but I would only pay £360 posted, and to be totally up front I would take it straight out of the slab as it would be to add to a date run

I would pay a deposit and balance on receipt, not the full amount up front.  You may be best checking what a dealer will offer you first but if your interested that would be my offer

Not really my area of expertise but I can’t see a 1914 in a 61 being worth much more than bullion value.
Even though it’s a shield no one likes a details grade so again just above bullion on the 75 too.

Not sure on the 1912P or whether it’s a low mintage year.

    1912P is a common (marsh 251)

    Sterling Silver Pistrucci Key Tray

A splendid auction pick-up at spot, this 2007 Royal Mint Sterling silver salver weighs in at a respectable 498g and was one of a limited edition of 1,000. Complete with a splendid full set of six hallmarks it can be used for keys, small change, boiled sweets, spare screws or even serve as a water bowl for a small dog.

I shall be using mine as a jelly mould.

Thanks. Indeed graded coins do sell  for more, and that’s understandable. I’m happy to settle for raw ungraded coins in their original packaging.

I am usually the same, but then I also rarely bother with proofs at all but similar to you would like to collect the special date versions.  Maybe start with this years if you do not have one already they seem to be fairly well available.  You can generally pick one up around £370-£400 raw.

what might be a reasonable / fair price if someone (me) was considering shopping around for these?

Will depend a lot on if they are graded.  Current trend seems to be that PF70's can go for up to 25% premium even over PF69 examples.  I have a 2002 PF70 and want a 1989 but the current price on those is too high for me.  I don't generally buy graded and only have 3 graded coins, two of which I only bought because they were the same price as raw.

I'm so proud of my boys and how they have grown into such amazing adults..I'm sorry too,not sure what for yet,but I'm sure I will do something daft during the week ahead.

I will start working on a list for things you should be sorry for, beating me by 30 seconds to that tube of 2oz Tudor Beasts springs to mind though :)

Listen mate I don’t care who you purchase from just thought I would be helpful and research some prices for you.

you never mentioned a pen mark and if you did I missed it. From what I know you mentioned coins not being in great condition.

I didn’t refer to you by name as I felt it rude.

do what you want I wish I hadn’t bothered.

If you are so clued up on dealers just but your gold instead of telling the world you have 20k to spend.

hitting the ignore button for the first time I think and will consider spending my time trying to provide information in future.

Think your getting confused matey, I don't have £20k to spend, this is not my post

I urged caution and suggested price is not the only deciding factor when spending that amount of money and gave a reason why.

Exactly my point Lawrence. The person was mentioning not wanting to use a dealer as previously bullion coins had marks on them.

'The person' was pointing out they sent a Machin head when someone had ordered a Gillick, and that a coin had been received marked (a large permanent pen mark on the coin) and that when tagged the dealer did not respond - not really the same thing at all!

And I stated I would be influenced by more than price not that I would not want to use them, I have bought 2022's off them myself and posted it in 'Today I received' and it was me that posted their link in 'See a deal post it here'

I know it's weird, but I actually like copper spots on gold coins.

Same, and I like toning on old coins as well.  Don't even mind a bit of milking on modern silver coins.

That's would not be most peoples view though, great job  @GoldDiggerDave must be a knack to doing it without getting the tell-tale 'cleaning' lines not sure I would be brave enough with my 10 thumbs but that looks like a top job

I'd buy british gold (sovereign or gold britannia essentially) at the lowest premium to spot. Would hunt around on the forum buying here and there or dealers when they have good deals. It's surprising how quickly you can spend £20k.

More fun than just ordering 20k in one go as well
