Coverte got a reaction from Tortoise in Tally - What do you think?
"Tally charges a one-off joining fee of £20, or £2 a month. At the moment existing Tally customers can invite their friends and family to join with no joining fee.
The company also imposes an 'account keeping fee' of 1 per cent a year, calculated daily and charged monthly. So, for instance, it will be 83p per month on £1,000 of Tally. The group says this covers ongoing security, storage, insurance, and operational costs.
Tally insists that if the price of gold increases against pounds by more than 1 per cent a year, then 'the customer is in front."
This app seems to be for dumber or lazier people who can't work out what to save or where - total waste of time for most people here IMO.

I fully agree - I just wish they would release the 10oz bullion one so I can close the door on those coins.

I was looking at different vendors who would be at the York Coin and stamp show and this fella does and Investment lot 10 1oz coins of his choice. His websites a bit mad and out of date but might be worth giving the fella a ring or having a punt on the coins. Iv bought silver from a lovely older fella down south with a similar aged website so Id say don't let that put you off.

Yes, me too, although given the apalling world (IMO) I/we are leaving for our children/grandchildren, at least compared to the world I gew up in where making strong money was far easier (IMO), I plan on sitting down with my kids to avoid any potential difficulties which may arise when I'm gone.
My eldest son knows way more about gold/silver than the others and has his own stack already, but I want to sit them all down to ensure an equal a spread as is possible.
I witnessed some wicked c**p when my Grandmother, Father and youngest sister died, so I am determined to try my very best to avoid any repeat of that.
So as far as cost prices goes, it's all a cost averaging excercise for me and I'd suggest that's the best way to view it for most.

LOL - the RM cannot even strike a decrnt set of proofs, if based on recent events.
FWIW the RM are currently awaiting more stock to be struck of the 1kg bullion completers, in fairness, mine seems flawless - oh the irony ....... 🤔

If the 'going rate' is to be judged by the current asking prices - almost anywhere - I'm still out of buying much at all, although I did pick up a tube of Beasts for well under £500 on ebay recently; gold makes more sense to me currently.

Assuming a 10oz completer comes along they should be in demand for several months and some may be a good long term investment, although personally stuck to bullion except for the completer; they will certainly be a hard act to follow so it will I suspect depend on the next hot thing coming out of RM, generally I avoid RM proofs, it's a hell of a job even getting your initial cost back for many/most.

A good summary, it will be very interesting how long the buzz will keep going with Queens Beasts.
Speaking of which, I assume the RM will bless us with a 10oz bullion completer before the curtain finallly comes down.

I can't speak for Atkinsons as I bought mine from Chards, as they are cheaper (pre-order).
I asked them to send in the tube, as these are high relief, so capsules about £2.00 each instead of the usual 50pence.

I don't like the colour of new  Sovereign, so I'd be firmly in the Britannia camp; since I don't anticipate selling, the faster/ease of sale for Sovereigns is acedemic to me - that'll be for my kids/grandkids to deal with.

I spoke to the RM this morning and it was confirmed that the 1 Kilo coins are/were made on 2 seperate occasions.
I asked if that meant if more would become available, but he said he didn't know as they (RM) have none for sale currently.
The level of interaction between production and sales / after service seems to be of a sililar quality to that of some of the QBeasts we have seen recently ..........

Coverte got a reaction from Ole76 in Buying 1oz gold - coin or bar?
Yes, I can understand this, as I like my silver in bars and don't really think about resale value as I have no intention of selling them unless something went horribly wrong like all my tenants moving out simultaneously!!
With that said, I bought a 1oz Pamp Rosa bar from a forum member, as he was desperate to get into ctypto and sold about £10 below spot.
From that I can tell you that 1oz of 24ct gold is so tiny and inconsequential looking, I've never had the inclination to give it a second glance since it went into the safe; on the other hand, I love taking my Beasts out of the tube/s and also particularly enjoy taking my gold completer out just to admire them.
My personal suggestion therefore would be a coin, and as someone else has said, it maybe better for yourself or for me my kids/grandkids, to pay a few £ extra and buy a coin  with future potential - you could get a gold bullion completer for about £1390, or if you want a bit cheaper, a 'Minty' CGT exempt coin for about £35 less.

Agreed in full, but I do so love 1 Kilo coins and so couldn't miss this one, mine worked out at £28.96/Oz - more than I'm spending on bullion silver these days, but I'm certainly looking forward to seeing this in the near future.
Fingers crossed they get the quality right on these ........

What mentality of person finds gold bars, in protective material/s, and does not bother taking them to a jeweller or pawn shop for verification .......
Someone should write a book of ebay scams in all their differing guises, whilst ebay would doubtless attempt legal action, Amazon would surely make it a best seller!!

I totally agree, but gave them details for an a/c which I no longer use and only has a few pounds in it, but I have not yet closed it ........... 😄
Since it never has funds, they would be hard pressed to get anything, as I have no overdraft facility on any of my bank a/c's .......
The fact the idiots sold Paypal which now is much, much more valuable than them is a good indication of their management quality IMO.
