A lot have said Gothic Crown, which would be great, but how would they get around putting the current queen on the coin?
If they stick with W.Wyon, his St. George or Flora would both be amazing...

I wonder who will be the first to receive it and upload a picture on the forum. Can’t wait to see one of these coins.
Wont be me as I don't know where to upload my pictures to or how embed them in a post yet... yes, I'm new here.. and Flickr doesn't work that well.

Oooh 'Eck... my order has just moved from Open to Closed..... with the price tag still in place and all three of my one coin ordered still in place. Fingers crossed and butt clenched... Yes I've been checking every 30 minutes or so - pretty sad considering its just 40 quid's worth of Silver...

Amazon must have changed then.
It's many years ago now, 2007/8+-, but we were looking for an upgrade card for a telephone system, and it was unavailable on every site except Amazon.
We bought it, and paid. After about a week, we got a message saying it was out of stock, but they were trying to source one for us. It was several months before Amazon told us they could not get one, then refunded us.
I suspect it was their standard Modus Operandi for many years.
It was clearly not a database / system error, but a policy.
They did change Lawrence - to a dynamic rules based system that adapts according to need.. clever stuff.

Might be a daft question but I'm good at daft questions so here goes. Given the relatively low volume of all the 3G coins, surely RM would have already made the coins and have them ready to sell? So why the 4 week wait for delivery? Do you think it takes 4 weeks to sort out all the ordering problems?

Does anyone have any idea at what point we can feel more comfortable? Or might it go all the way to dispatch?
First the anxiety of logging in to RM early enough - am I on the right page, why are there no links etc etc.. Then getting in to the actual buying page only to see a counter placing you behind 3000 other people all trying to do the same thing, then joy as you reach the head of the queue followed by sadness as nothing happens... for 4 minutes - but you dare not leave the page! Then euphoria as the screen changes to reveal the coins... Intense panic as you pick the only product that's still available, then watching in terror as your 1st attempt to pay for it brings up a page error so you have to go back to the start. Then pure joy when your payment finally goes through the 2nd time and you get the email saying you have placed an order - Wahoo! Oh - hang on... stress again when you read the small print and you realise it says 'subject to availability'. Then 4 weeks of daily checking email for the 'Sorry... computer says no' email and more daily checking and double checking of your RM account Open Orders page to make sure all three of the one coin you ordered are still there.
Jeeze - I honestly thought coin collecting would be a stress free pastime - never thought I'd be more stressed than going to work every day! Think I might go back to Base jumping..

Good suggestion, but I guess they want to make sure the money is available. They cannot offer credit like that otherwise - can they? Clearly, I am not an expert!
In fairness to the mint (and I cannot believe I have just said that given the issues I am having with them at the moment) this is not an everyday problem. That said, there is no reason why they cannot have a system in place that clearly determines when an item has sold out. The technology we have today must allow for this - as mentioned earlier in this thread, the American's just put a ****ing buggy with a camera and drill on Mars and it is sending back selfies. Why can the Royal Mint not manage a sale of what amounts to less than 5000 coins in one go? Rocket science it aint.
Systems like this are plentiful - eg. you'll never see Amazon sell something out of stock - and they hold millions of products. Downside is they do require a degree of investment - possibly more than RM want to spend... This is my day job.

My order was cancelled, it's now in "Completed" status, furthermore, now in my order there are 3 coins of 2oz silver, while in reality I ordered of course just 1, and have an e-mail confirmation and my card was charged just for 1.
So looks like RM has added 2 coins to my order to claim it not legitimate. Quite disgusting.
This is a computer error - I see three of everything I order in my open and closed order pages. I called my AM yesterday thinking, like you, that this might cause my order to be cancelled but he just confirmed this is a system fault. It is not intentional on RM's part.

Assuming my order goes through, this will be one that I sit on for a very long time...

Just managed to snag a 2oz Silver.... 4 weeks wait though.
Does a low numbered COA have an effect on value?

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and suggest that the COA is just picked from the top of a stack of them when the coins are packaged and most likely bares no relation to the actual strike number of the coin its packed with. I think it's just luck of the draw.
