Not a bad idea, then I'd have 2 x 4 coin sets and a 5 coin set, not sure that many ears hanging around the house is healthy.

My costly mistake was reading the 3 graces thread and seeing how the initial investments of buyers resulted in big profits. Cue some Googling and I couldn't believe my 'luck' finding a 3 coin set for £1500, all graded PF70 by First Strike (who?). I only looked into them more when they arrived and I obviously found that no one was overly impressed at my 'non RM' purchase. I've tried to flog them a few times to get my money back, but to no avail. I keep telling myself they might make me a return one day, but the lesson learned was to stick to RM sovs as a safer bet.

They're graded by PCGS, who most people will have heard of. The "First Strike" label just means the coin was issued within the first 30 days of the mint's release or something like that.

I have no idea either. I bought the 3-Coin set and full in a mad rush at 9am and went to buy the 4-Coin set shortly after but it took the payment and didn't go through. Now my CC is maxed and wish I had waited to get the 4-Coin set.

Oh well, bit of change saved for me atleast. Plus I'm happy with the 3-Coin set and full Sov to match the first ever ones I'd bought last year.

Could also be an issue with the Royal Mint's website? I just went back to have a look at the new Sovs, and some of the links don't work on: https://www.royalmint.com/sovereign/2022/memorial-sovereign/

They just take you back to the home page.

If those 5 coin sets aren’t sold out by tomorrow I’m expecting that everyone who would pay over the odds for one will already have a set (or more than one set) and then the PF69 graded ones might be on offer for less than RRP in March/April. With the PF70s just slightly more than RRP. That 1,200 mintage is almost double the previous 5 coin set. 🤔
