In case TSF members noticed a sharp "blip" in the pounds sterling price of gold a few days ago, this almost certainly helps to explain it:

I don't know how many of the GBP:Gold price charts used XE.Com in their feeds, or whether the original error occurred further along the data chain.

Unfortunately I haven't got any spare dosh until the end of the month which, of course, gives it a couple of weeks to go back up again.

 

The Sovereign is the quintessentially British coin.  It has a German queen on the front, an Italian waiter on the back, and half of them were made in Australia.
