Today I Received.....

Message added by ChrisSilver

The Today I received section is for private individuals to share items they have purchased for their collection / as part of their investment.

The Today I received section is not to be used for businesses to promote their business. Trade members and those operating as a business in the eyes of the forum are invited to enquire about a Dealer Sub Forum, where you may start your own Today _____ received topic to post your commercial purchases. E.g. The Today Chards Received..... topic.

@Earthmetal Thanks for being my first ever buyer! Those photos looks stunning btw. What camera did you use to take them?

I have an iphone13 (which I regret buying for an umber of reasons) and the camera never seems to give very good photos, especially up close when taking shots of things like coins.

Read @Charliemouse's articles about photographing gold.  Image quality can be down to several factors.  As a starter for 10, try getting the OpenCamera app and learning to use it.  Learn about taking RAW photos and the gubbins about post-production.  You might also want to get a tripod and a clamp for the phone.

By and large, iPhones have pretty good cameras.  You should be able to get fairly decent pics with one.

The Sovereign is the quintessentially British coin.  It has a German queen on the front, an Italian waiter on the back, and half of them were made in Australia.

Cheers pal, it's a crappy old Nikon Coolpix compact as I don't have a mobile telecommunications device.

Very useful and interesting book.  Just be aware there are mistakes (some discussed around the forum) so verify before getting that second mortgage.  😉
