Vast majority of dealers are way over-priced but managed to find some genuine bargains at yesterday’s Midland Coin Fair held at the Birmingham Motorcycle Museum. 2015 5^th portraits graded PF70. The half has the lowest modern QEII proof mintage @ 1,046 and the quarter was 1,148.

I've been told the dealers often price coins at the fairs at a point that leaves a bit of room for haggling, although I've not had occasion to try it yet.  Quite frequently I see stuff at the London coin fair (run by the same outfit) where dealers are pricing stuff a bit over what you'd expect from an an online vendor.

Thanks. I have been mulling it over for weeks and finally landed on sovs. I'm not keen on the modern George and dragons so thought these. 

When funds allow will be looking for a couple of gillicks related to birth years. Mind you a month or so ago I didn't know what a gillick was 😃

Today my missus bought me this 1979 Isle of Man half sovereign from the local bullion dealer in the High Street. Whilst I was there I rummaged through his scrap coin bag and chose this Bosnia & Herzegovina sterling silver coin for scrap price. Sorry for the poor quality shots using camera phone.
