Gold 1 Escudos cob type (hammered coin)
King Phillip II.
Dated 1556 to 1598
Mint: Sevilla
Weight: 3.37 g
diameter: 18 mmAlready have the King Phillip II 2 Escdos & 4 Escdos (Doubloon & double Doubloon) thought I just needed the 8 Escudos to complete the set but it turns out that the 4 Escudos was the largest coin minted under King Phillip II's reign and the 8 escudos came later.
I can be satisfied I have the complete set without having to drop £8k - £18k on a 8 Escudos cob coin

Gold 4 Escudos cob type (hammered coin)
Double Doubloon of pirate fame.
King Phillip II.
Dated 1556 to 1598
Mint: Sevilla
Weight: 13,50 g
diameter: 32 mmRecently purchased the 2 Escudos so now have to get the 1 & 8 Escudos to complete the set.
The premiums on these really hurt, this baby works out at nearly £7k/oz

We need a "Today I didn't receive" thread.
Was supposed to be getting my monster box delivered tomorrow by Fedex but after checking the tracking I now have:
"Shipment exception - Delay beyond our control" on Wednesday and Thursday.
Scheduled delivery date now just says "Pending" and "No scheduled delivery date available at this time"

5 X 1kg silver bars (4X Metalor + 1 X Heraeus)
Silver proof RM R2D2, BB8 + C3PO
I have added some pics of the reverse of the coins as there are no pics on the RM website.
The mintage of these is only 750 so if anyone is thinking of buying grab one quick as my R2D is no. 614 and C3PO is 408 and I ordered a couple of days ago.

7 X 1oz gold Britannia + 1 X 1/2oz gold Britannia from Hatton Garden.
Why the half? to cross the 400oz gold finish line
Total gold stack = 400.06oz
Got to have some self discipline now and stop buying gold and get the silver stack up to target goal.
Will post some full stack pics when they arrive Tuesday.

A bit of a long winded one with a bargain at the end.
I spotted a "Centenary of Winston Churchill - This Was Their Finest Hour" Gold 2 X Medallion Set by Christopher Ironside on ebay @ £570
Coin details : 1 X 17.5g + 1 X 3.5g made from 900 gold (stamped on the coins too) so fine weight = 18.9g, however as they are produced outside the UK they are listed as 18ct.
After a little searching for a price check I notice Chards had a 2 coin set and a 3 coin set listed as 18ct.
So basically got the the two sets with a fine weight of 2.66oz for a total of £1.72 over spot for the lot
Today I Received.....
