4 Ducat has arrived, a beautiful designed coin -

to give a sense of scale, the coin is only 15g but because its so thin looks larger than the 1.2oz quint sovs and 50 peso and much larger than the 1oz coins -

Atkinsons have now officially shipped by quint sov and metalor bar so will finally be here tomorrow.

Coininvestdirect have also now shipped my 20 peso.

To celebrate just ordered a 4 ducat from Chards, love these coins as they are the size of a 1oz silver eagle but super thin, amazing design too -

Oh crikey Chris, i suffer with paranoia as it is, it just got worse, mind you Mr deads purchases makes my current 7oz stack look a bit pathetic. I am starting to feel i am out of my league around here.

You have 7oz more than 99.5% the rest of the UK so keep at it

If you buy more than £5k in one purchase or £10k over the course of a year from one bullion dealer. Then the bullion dealer must ask for a copy of your ID. I think they also have to report to HMRC. It is to stop money laundering / criminals. Right now the UK government probably have their eye on Mr-dead, and all over this forum

 

 

Pretty sure bullion dealers dont actively report to HMRC but are legally obliged to collect the information "just encase"

Got my I.D sorted with Atkinsons but the 100g Metalor bar is on a 1-2 day lead time now so my order should be here early next week.

Have also just placed my first order with Coininvestdirect for my favorite gold coin, the Mexican 20 peso.

The quoted prices are based a lower spot rate so you would have to give them a buzz for current prices.

Can I ask, where you got the quintuple sov from. I think I prefer those to the new 1 oz Britannia coins. I've decided I'm sticking to sovs for my gold stack and I'd like to get a big sov once or twice a year.

I got them from the special offer section from Atkinsons.

1st one was £911.62, 2nd one was £948.58 due to spot change.

They are out of stock at the moment though

Just got caught out by the 5k/10k threshold limits.

Seems some of my earlier history in Atkinsons didnt show up in my online account history so went over the 10k limit by £200.

Have now had to submit all my I.D for verification

on the plus side got another quintuple sov and a 100g gold metalor bar coming

If I purchased silver bars instead of gold it would be up to 36kg by now

The equivalent gold can be stored in a small case, and its not even full yet.

Picked up my bar this morning (work for Royal Mail so can grab it direct from the office )

First thing that hits you is that its quite small, then you pick it up and the 2nd thing that hits you is how heavy it is for its size defo highlights the density of gold.

I didn't realise the Howling Wolf would come in a seal assay card.  I should have known the Taku would since the Kiwi did.

All importantly, I got another bag of gummy bears with the silver purchases above.

The only place ive spotted it is a german dealer and the premium was quite high.

Its a lighthouse quadrum case, they do them in different shapes and sizes designed to take the quadrum capsules that can hold coins from 14-41mm.

I got very lucky on that set, 1986 1oz, 1/2oz. 1/4oz, 1/10oz and 1/20 oz in original mint packaging.

Ahh. You don't want to pay the higher premiums.  

In the UK it would be premium + VAT.  In Germany just the premium

It would worry be if you built up a large stack and wanted to sell it quickly for some reason, sell to a dealer and get offered spot or ebay and get slammed with fees.  I think with gold if you buy wisely you can purchase as low as 3% over spot so wouldnt take much of a price increase to be able to off load the lot to a dealer with zero stress,

But I would love a 1kg silver Panda + Libertad even with the huge premiums

You still end up paying around 19% over spot even on the cheapest coins at silver-to-go which are amoungst the cheapest out there.

This will be delivered tueday, as the coins are sealed in capsules I needed something to fondle
