So depressing because it’s a lovely coin otherwise. ☹️

Now to deal with returns! 🫤

I’ve never seen a proof milk like that over delivery.

Aaaahhh😉

So the coin struck to celebrate the work of Pistrucci, can't even manage to strike his name on the coins :

Shocking, truly shocking and it's not just one of them either!

Some good news for anyone looking the coins. I've returned 2x 2oz Golds and 1x 2oz Silver. They'll be up for grabs for some RM customers on the waiting list.

Been received and all by the Mint. So some of use may get a call offering the golds or a silver

Did you return due to bad quality on all 3 coins?

I assume the quality was off?

I like to buy the pre-dip dip

2 separate golds your looking at there. Problems with each

All 3 yes

They look like they've been through the Trial of the Pyx already.

I wasn't happy with the quality. Although nothing nearly as bad as the petition set in gold I received last year. Small mark more like an indent round the PO lettering area. Second coins horrible Mark above the 4 going through the Charles neckline and 1 slight finning. But the Pistrucci sides both faultess from what I could see. But either way returned with no replacements asked for.

Jeez that’s very disappointing.. but your right, don’t collect something unless it’s perfect especially for a coin such as the 2oz Gold GE

Such a shame on an otherwise beautiful coin.  That’s why I now prefer to get all my RM coins from a reputable dealer, who checks the coins before sending them to me.  Cannot trust the RM for QC.

NCG will probably pass this as a PF70 because its manufacturing error. It will have been better if they omitted "Pistrucci" altogether then you have a rare variety. I notice this with RM proofs were coins struck with worn dies are merely frosted over to conceal the defect. Chances are you see a perfect coin but not what it seems.

I think it's more likely that this was caused by the die being clogged.
